Not crazy about him as an actor. He would be a major step down from the two we got this season, in my opinion.

Also good to see Eli found God after Nucky almost put one in his dome
Just caught up and watched all three episodes yesterday.. Good show. I definitely like it but its not great imo.. at least not yet anyway. The acting is really good though. But I think its goes a little too overboard with the "cops battling personal demons" mantra that we've seen a thousand times. Its textbook cop fair but HBO revs it up. Is it me or are they in the car too fukking much. And with every long car ride do we have to get a religious-out of body-philosophical rant from Russ?. This show is soooooo depressing even Marty's daughters might end up hoeing in the future at the rate they're going. It was a relief when they showed Marty's wife parents home. I hit rural Mississippi once-twice a year visiting family and yeah its poor and run down as f*ck but on the flipside you also have some really nice homes, property, neighborhoods, and scenery out there. I think you need to show both when doing something like this. I'm definitely on board and I can tell its going to get crazy but its not great yet.Is this show an atheist soap box, all I keep hearing is Rusts religious rants for 5 minutes and then a lack luster straw man response by Woody. Then you have the general hypocrisy that is Woody's life in comparison to his values. There isn't much balance in this message so I'm assuming that the bias is intentional. I guess you could say there is a little balance in Rusts shytty life brought on by the reality of his conclusions though.
Just watched the first episode and almost done with the second. This show is piff
When did Matthew McConaughey become such a great actor? Dude is amazing on this show.
mcconaghey was on that dumb it down, double my dollars schemeHe's always had the talent, he just spent years eating of cheesy romcoms. I think most telling was the Five Favorite Films thing they do at Rotten Tomatoes, and his choices basically summed up that he really connects to intense, conflicted characters living outside the boundaries of normal life, pretty much like a lot of his roles since his comeback (Killer Joe, Mud, The Paperboy, Dallas Buyers Club, True Detective).
