something that just came up while talking about the show with a co-worker:

they've done a great job of showing how judging a book by the cover is wrong...like @TheGodling said....you can tell rust is at peace with himself, even though they give the preception that he's all fukked up...everything he's talked about that's happened to him/in his life, he's still at peace and accepts who he is....and it's the exact opposite for marty...they give the impression he's living this storybook life, great family man, etc.; but you can tell he's not at peace with himself and all fukked up...even in the present day, you can tell he's still not at peace and is conflicted with himself about who he is, life, etc...

on a side note: i will be copping this when it is released...i rarely cop tv shows, but this has been great all round: story, writing, acting, environments, atmosphere...the show gives me the feeling of 'usual suspects'...that even though you know the twist, it's so good you enjoy watching it again and again like you dont know what's gonna happen...

someone mentioned it earlier.. they extended it what? 2 weeks to solve something? I think the county or that task force or whatever takes over the case and buries it and the next few episodes ( I think its 10 total episodes? and we are already coming up on episode 3) will be over the course of the 2 weeks. Itll be some political guy that did this fukked up shyt or someone with power and thats why the taskforce is interested in the case in the first place and they end up planting the charges on someone who really isnt the criminal

Yeah 2 weeks.

Yeah, the 2nd Episode hit on this pretty hard when he was justifying cheating on his wife. He was telling the detectives interviewing him that it was a needed release and he recommends it.

Maybe they'll do it like American Horror Story

Nah, one of the reasons they're doing this format is so they can get big names like McConaughey and Harrelson who probably wouldn't want to commit to a lengthy tv-series. So for each season they'll get another pair of big names to play the lead roles and given the show's success, it shouldn't be too hard.

The big question is though, will they be able to find another pair of such great titties? HBO might've unknowingly peaked already in the first season. :patrice:
