Has anyone mentioned this book in the thread:

The first season of the HBO original series True Detective uses the phrases "The Yellow King", "Carcosa" and "You, sir, should unmask", as well as other themes and ideas from the book. Its use in the TV series resulted in a spike in sales of the book.

Yeah waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay earlier in the thread. Like 100 pages ago.

Aside from name dropping The King In Yellow, Carcosa, and stuff like that the show has no real ties to the book. It's a great read though.

Side note, the last ep had names of characters from that book (Cassilda and Camilla) written on the wall in the killer's house:

just finished the season....

mad I didnt watch it with yall to discuss it every week. Incredible fukking show. I fear for my nikka Cranston come Emmy night cause that boy Mcconaughey is in a zone right now. When ol boy was cutting him I was like plz don't do Rust like this....that's how much I grew with that character and cared for him. Salute to Marty as well, great character, glad to see him get a happy ending after everything he been through....Michelle is a bad bytch .

I hope that season 2 continues the great storytelling, acting and direction...season 1 was damn near flawless. also, the music....god damn....the song at the end of the finale was so fukking dope...i need to find it asap.
