So it's pretty much implied that Rust ran over his own daughter at this point right?

That comment he made to the prost about being a cop that can do bad things with impunity, all his guilt, plus him philosophizing trying to convince himself her death was a good thing.
Think it was supposed to tie in with the theme of children living in a decaying world. Maybe they saw it in a movie or something and tried to re-enact it :patrice:

naw, don't think he ran his own daughter over...it seems kid was playing in the driveway and someone else ran her over...him and the wife probably blamed each other cause no one was keeping an eye on her and they knew about the chance of it happening...he eluded to that when he said 'we lived at the bottom of a bend in the road, and...'....so yea, they were told there was a chance of a car running the curb, hitting shyt in the yard...that shyt just happened to be his daughter that time...

as for what he told the tute, think that was him eluding to the shyt he did as an undercover cop...from the way he was telling the agents, seems he had free reign to do whatever as long as he got the job done...he was getting high, killing meth heads, robbing folk, etc...he didn't go too far until he killed the cartel people and they put him in the psych ward....and him acting like that probably came from his daughter dying and him not giving a fukk after that...

as for my thoughts on the episode:

- the only one that doesn't seem to know they trying to pin something on rust is marty...it's like he oblivious to that shyt....I see people saying they think he might've set rust up, don't think that's the case....for all the shyt they hint at about him and rust having a falling out, they worked together for 7 years and he still gives rust high praise....tells me him and rust parting ways had more to do with rust being the one that stopped fukking with marty, and not the other way around...

- now that I think, and this is a wild shot in the dark, but I think the other cops think marty might be the one that did the new kill, and not rust...rust is too much of a straight shooter and they've learned that, so if he would've done it, they probably would've found out by now...but marty is the opposite on the other hand...he's secretive, tries to be conniving...that might be why they keep asking him questions about rust, instead of himself, to throw him off....

- that scene with marty's daughters fukked him up...especially figuring he just had that talk with his father in law about the world going to hell...he tried to brush that shyt off, but then he sees his daughters simulating a gangbang with their dolls, that'll fukk with you....

- also about marty, think he really doesn't consider his fukking around as a bad thing that goes against his morals...he's trying to be a 'good' man, and he just considers that his release...some men have drugs, drinking, whatever, he just got a bad ass side piece....that's why he felt some kind of way about the young tute...

- woody is doing his thing acting thing so far in this show...him and matthew are killing it...

...cant wait for next week, seems matthew got a lil too high and had on a gasmask just walking around in his underwear lol...

What stuck out the most to me this episode was the conflicts in both characters.

Hart talks about how his father was a real man who kept things to himself and as such can't stand his father-in-law for complaining about the state of the world. At the same time he tries to keep his family untouched by his work, but in doing so is actually pushing his wife away (the cheating) while his children are far from untouched by their daddy's work (the gangrape doll situation), which actually confirms what his father-in-law was saying.

Rust on the other hand claims he can tell the difference between the hallucinations and real life, but really just seems to be given some spiritual importance to the hallucinations he likes to think are real (the birds). Similarwise, he tells the cops in 2012 the hallucinations/dreaming stopped when he got off drugs and got clean, yet he's made a habit of drinking a sixpack every day, basically having traded in one vice for another. There's also his talk about how he supposedly could pinpoint the weaknesses in a subject when trying to get information from the two guys in the garage, only to just beat the crap out of them, which has nothing to with pinpointing weaknesses and everything with just threatening/hurting people into complying (see also him talking to the hooker about him being very dangerous because he can hurt people with impunity). While he's an expert cop, he's also a bit delusional about how good he really is.

How can anyone blame Marty for not wanting to come home to his family. As soon as he hits the door his wife's bytching at him. Then he walks in on his demon daughters running a gangbang with their barbies. :merchant::what: A couple pages back someone said they could tell something wasn't right with those demon daughters the way they were whispering to each other at the dinner table in the pilot. That was an understatement.

And where the hell is Marty's wife? Shouldn't she know she's raising Hannibal Lector's daughters? :pachaha:
