This right here is my favorite scene of the entire series so far.

"Mr. Charisma" :russ:

"What do you think the average IQ of everyone here is?" :dead:

Rust sentiments on religion; catharsis, a shifting of responsibility/guilt, someone who has to be told how to be a decent person is a piece of shyt :wow:

And then to wrap it all up Marty actually brings up some #realshyt: "...for someone who doesn't believe in anything, you sure fret a lot, and you still sound panicked." And flips Rust off for good measure.

Yall are way too easily impressed....Its a great show with great writing, but if yall think Rust's soliloquy was deep, than all yall can't be older than 25....And if you are, you've lived a shelter life......

Right. I know pretentious fukks like that in real life. Basically they just want to feel intellectually superior to those that are "believers".

That's all everyone has said in here. The writing and acting are great. His criticism was spot on.

I've read a lot of philosophical literature and if you think they can fit every single argument in a television show with limited time, I don't know what to say. The writing and delivery of the lines are about as good as can get in modern entertainment. Of course a book or a paper would have much more detail and allow much more in depth critiques, but this isn't either of those.

Exactly......

I don't think the criticism was spot on because you can't even begin to sum up the human psyche and the world we live in in 10 minutes.....It was great rant done by a good actor....

shyt caught me off guard. I figured this show was going be a typical police procedural but hick-ed up.:skip: This hick over here sounding like Camus and Nietzsche's love child, getting deep and depressing as fukk outta now where but making so much sense. He's done so many drugs, homie just naturally trips every now and then. I swear I saw duke down a bottle of cough syrup just for the hell of it. And titties :blessed:

True detective is a must watch.
