I had to change my opinion on this situation after reading into it and hearing as many perspectives as possible.

obviously troy was shooting in self defense and something happened beforehand as people were running before he even fired the shot.

with that said....we still dont know all the facts. but to crucify troy for his actions without the proper facts is foolhearty.

will not talk more about this situation...but i see what people were saying now. we really don't know what happened and the full details so its not really a good move to talk until we know what happened. all we have is speculation and hearsay

Police Seek Second Gunman in Irving Plaza Shooting as Rumors Fly: Report

The PIX11 report cites sources as saying an individual who had beefed with Troy approached the rapper in the Irving Plaza's third-floor dressing room, leading to a scuffle that erupted in gunshots, with the unidentified second gunman shooting Troy in the leg and McPhatter in the stomach. Troy then engaged in a struggle over the gun as people in the room fled; McPhatter later died from his wounds. Ballistic reports have yet to be released, though police have identified a gun found in Troy's car as having been involved in the shooting.

Police Say Social Media Has Helped Irving Plaza/Troy Ave Shooting Investigation

The NYPD updated the press on the status of it's probe into last week's shooting at a T.I. concert in New York City, on Thursday (June 2), noting that searches through social media have been helpful in moving the investigation along. New information on the guns recovered, along with the sole firearm believed to be used, were made public, and rapper Maino was officially cleared of any responsibility in the shooting.

"We do not believe that he (Maino) was involved in the dispute,” stated NYPD Chief of Detectives, Robert Boyce. The department's exoneration of the Brooklyn rapper, who was present as one of the performers at the Irving Plaza show, dispels rumors initially circulated in the media that the incident resulted from a supposed long standing conflict involving his circle. Maino unequivocally denied the allegations the following day, stating that he and suspect Troy Ave have been in good standing with one another.

On Wednesday, news broke that detectives are now looking into the possibility that there was another shooter. Although ballistics tests have so far verified that each of the bullet casings found belonged to one gun, a 9-mm believed to be the weapon Troy Ave [Roland Collins] is seen firing in surveillance footage released to the public, sources close to the investigation let on that a scenario by which another shooter accessed and used the very same gun, is being explored.

The gun in question [a Kel Tec] was found along with a defaced 9-mm Taurus, and a stolen .38 caliber revolver inside of a secret compartment in the 2003 Chevrolet van that drove Collins to the hospital. The 9-mm Taurus was loaded with 10 rounds and the .38 was fully loaded with five hollow point bullets. Tests are currently being run for a DNA match.

Within days of the tragedy that claimed the life of 33-year-old Ronald McPhatter, and left three injured, theories surrounding the identity of individuals in the two video clips that have been released, and speculation over beefs concerning Troy Ave began circulating. However the NYPD has yet formally named any additional suspects.
