How is everyone's recovery process going? Any luck with FEMA or insurance yet? Bids coming in from contractors?

Be wary of scammers trying to steal personal information or straight up Rob people :pacspit::camby:

I was on hold with FEMA 3 1/2 hours last week. Still no inspection... I don't know what's going to happen...Ive been having trouble sleeping. We won't walk away from the house but it's driving me crazy to have no plan. I just want to know so I can know what I have to do. I have to get a new car mine was flooded out. That's happening this week, but I wasn't really prepared to just up and get a car, but I need one so...

My dad pulled a gun on a city of Houston worker :mjlol: he thought he was a scammer/trying to rob him. No one was expecting them. My mom had just called them the day before this was before Irma even happened. They never show up that fast :comeon: especially not in a crisis.

Had the city worker regretting coming to work that day :russ::lolbron:.

Is there one of those makeshift FEMA centers near you that you could speak to someone in person? Not sure if they would tell you the same thing as the online application but it could be worth a shot

Also red cross is offering financial relief to those affected in their own little stations. Check around your area

Good luck with the car hunting. My sister's dumbass boyfriend overpayed for a truck down here bc he refused to drive to Houston for some reason :snoop:. Tired of his stupid antics throughout this whole storm and the aftermath :camby::mjlol:

They're really fukking port Arthur displaced people over big time :snoop:

First FEMA tried to put them in barges that looked like floating prisons, but they couldn't pass coast guard safety standards :francis::comeon:

Now they are trying to put them in Goddamn tents like they are some kind of circus act :dahell::camby:

What the hell happened to all those trailers :mjpls:

Got switched to another area in the apartment complex because the roof had a bad leak after the hurricane other than that my stuff and my car is fine

Hopefully people learn from this and look into flood coverage for their car and renters insurance for their apartment

This shyt is insane:

I've seen a lot worse than this:yeshrug:

The water went down fast for them and they were able to get a good start on salvaging stuff. There were houses that people couldn't get into until yesterday.

Worked on one house last week that the lady who owned it was a hoarder.:whoa:

Piles of shyt everywhere that got dropped over by the water. Plus the sewage backed up in that area so it was literally piles of shyt everywhere.

Let me know if that red cross money actually hit your neighborhood

I've gotten free lunches while working on houses from Red Cross trucks driving around.

I've been in some of the worst damaged areas though, haven't seen this in some other areas. Also haven't seen any other input personally from them. May be different in other areas though.
