This is inaccurate.

Gentrification is going on in Houston right now and has been for a while now.

Also the gentrifying process is a huge reason why the city flooded as bad as it did.

Ironically most of the people I know in the hoods didn't get hit as bad as people living in high income areas.
Yup. Third Ward was basically untouched while Cinco Ranch and Sienna Flakes were flooded out!

Old school pearland was fine for the most part as well.

I'll most def be buying some properties in the third ward going forward.

Northbound lanes of W. Beltway 8 now open
:blessed:

*Edit-- Getting to work was a breeze this morning! (word to HaHa Davis). I got to work in under 30 mins yall since they opened up the northbound beltway lanes. However, the southbound lanes still closed and I know that Friday afternoon commute home bout to be :demonic:.

Man this the best news I've read all week.

I was in the 3rd ward last Sunday. They were poor unlike the churches I went to in DC where they had wealth but they were so beautiful in spirit. :blessed:

A lot of them folks are 5 or 6 checks from being broke

Some of the folks just bought their cribs

One of my former coworkers just bought a house and he hasn't even paid the first mortgage payment. He got 8 ft of water in the house

You can't just assume these people are straight because their houses cost more than the average home

80 percent of people who flooded don't have insurance. It's common to not carry if you live in an area that has never flooded
:damn:

This is so scary. America really ain't ready at all. Most of us broke. Even if you make six, what does that mean when you owe so much.

How is everyone's recovery process going? Any luck with FEMA or insurance yet? Bids coming in from contractors?

Be wary of scammers trying to steal personal information or straight up Rob people :pacspit::camby:
