What memorable shyt had hhh done that didn't involve Austin or Rock?
Him and HBK summer of 02, his feud with Foley in 97 and 2000, his feud leading up to WM30 with DBry. And to remove his stuff against Rock isn't fair because they both had great chemistry against each other before they were both two of the biggest names in the biz.

But none of those were big because of him, they were big because of the guys he was fighting. I give him credit though, he was the top hell if the attitude era, but he wasn't even top 5 of that era.

It takes two to tango. Hogan was the biggest star in the 80's, arguably the biggest wrestler ever, WM2 main event is seen as lackluster yet the very next year he was in arguably the biggest main event ever. The only thing that changed was who was facing. Yeah facing guys like Foley, HBK, the Rock, and SCSA obviously increased the worth of the match, but he held up his end of the bargin.

The same could be said for Jericho then. :manny:

I don’t particularly like Triple H. In the last in particular seemed like a huge a$$hole, but I was thinking about a lot of the great things he’s been involved in recently and do feel he’s 1 of the greats, he may have been carried by his opponents at times but it takes more than 1 person, he did a good job with a lot of things too. He’s not 1 of my personal favourites but he’s 1 of the best.

HHH has no charisma, he was carried by shawn michaels to stardom

he's was just a good bad guy to go against stone cold/the rock in their prime... a believable heel
yes he had good matches but mostly because people wanted to watch his opponent

jericho is entertaining to watch, has classics
he doesnt even have to grab the mic, i can watch him on mute
ladder matches, backflips from the top buckle
classics with eddie, classics in wcw

jericho all day

I would rate Chris Jericho at the same level as HHH and that says more about Hunter than Jericho.
HHH was pushed relentlessly, in and out of DX, with and without Chyna, and before and after he got with Stephanie.
If you look at how much HHH has been pushed he should be as big an icon as Ric Flair, but he's not.
I was at the Raw show in Tampa in Dec 99, where Stephanie turned heel to start the McMahon-Helmsley era and I remember even then that didn't really get HHH over.
For HHH to get over, it took him beating Cactus Jack in at No Way Out 2000 with a retirement stip.
Hell in a Cell still meant a lot at that point and Mick Foley picked the match so for HHH to destroy and "retire" him clean it meant a lot.
After that he inexplicably became the first heel to retain the world title at Mania 2000 and stayed in the main event scene for the next 10 years or so.
Chris Jericho never ever got close to the same pushes in WWE even though he was over from the day he debuted in '99.
In my view, HHH never moved the needle in ratings after he came back from an injury in 2002.
His career is littered with examples of him "needing" to win because he wasn't good enough to stay relevant if he lost.

Chris Jericho is the master of reinventing himself dating back to WCW up until now, whereas Cripple Ache was nothing but a DX version & Evolution version. And even with that, he had the same moveset which was bland & boring. Speaking of DX & Evolution, what was he without a supporting cast? He always had to be involved in a faction or team. He could never do it by himself. Just like his feuds, he relied on the opponent.

Jericho became friends with Meltzer and fed him scoops. He politicked in a different way, and got himself over more with internet fans despite not being as athletic in the ring as Eddie or Benoit.

He never drew though. HHH isn’t a solo draw but HHH vs Goldberg, HHH vs Rock, HHH vs Austin are bigger than Jericho vs those guys.

Internet narrative really has people fooled. Jericho gets grouped in with Eddie and Benoit by being a Meltzer fave and a midcarder WCW Guy, but his work is not as dynamic as those guys and is closer to HHH. Except he had a goofier, less genuine promo style and was shorter with a worse look.

Not as athletic as Eddie and Benoit but he's still doing moonsaults at damn near 50 years old with a beer gut. Come on dog. Jericho's entire moveset was athletic/aerial based until he got to America.
