Austin vs Punk isn't happening. Not this year anyways - and even if it is, he needs to take attention away from it, and put it onto something that IS gonna happen :
Punk vs Rock.
So why bring it up? To sell the eventual match. Simple. And to bring up Rock right after he speaks on Austin, and y'all don't see the link?! 2 of the biggest names of the Attitude Era and Punk has a problem with them both: basic linear associations. That's all.
