so hes just supposed to shyt all over the current talent just to appease the rock? :obeezy:
Umm no, but why just mention the Rock out of nowhere, no one said anything about the Rock, no one said anything over currenty talent, they said a dream match between Austin and Punk, no one was like Austin is better than current talent or Rock is better. It's Trips trolling at it's finest.

but still, u gotta figure, that HHH/taker [HBGOAT] match DID bring in some buyrates :mjpls:.. most people i know IRL were looking forward to it more than rock/cena (mainly cuz they were attitude era fans)..

Let's not be silly. That match was seen 2x before and it had a platform to stand out because it was on a show featuring a Rock main event. Had he not been there, that show would not have even done 800k. Everyone was looking for to it because it was on a ROCK main event show..they can look forward to that all they want(even though it was only made 3 weeks before the damn event:laugh:) but would they give a fukk about WM 28 in general had it not been as hyped and build up like it was? Of course not. Good match. Good gimmick match that needed a TON of extras to make it seem like a big deal but it wasn't no "End of a Era" match when you had the real co-leader of the Attitude Era headlining. WM 28 would of done record gate numbers 7 months before the show without the Rock? Unthinkable.

Maybe some PG era kids can think it was some "Era ending" but if anything, they missed out on that because the only Era ending match of note in the last 10 years was at WM 19. Not another match where they ALL KNEW the Undertaker was going over clean as fukk.

If you consider how much they're paying Rock for his appearances, it's pretty silly to suggest Triple H truly thinks Rock is garbage.

100% work. And that's no shot at Triple H. He's a smart guy, and he knows it's his job to build up the current and future full-time talent when he does an interview. So of course he'll make it a priority to build up Punk over Rock. It makes business sense, and Triple H is a businessman.

Thats what these fools dont understand. They still stuck in 1999/2000. Arguing how much Rock is better than HHH n shyt.

HHH has moved on and is now part of the corporate side of the business.

Rock is no longer an adversary

He's an asset which can be put to good use :youngsabo:

Wasn't trolling. He made the jump from Austin to Rock to say that it's not going to be easy for anyone from a previous era to come in and dominate (he left out Brock though :mjpls:) the current generation. It wasn't a knock on Austin/Rock, he was trying to hype up the new guys.

actually it was smart of him to bring up the rock, they hadnt asked about him so he took it upon himself to drop the info that the rock was going to be an active competitor during wm season while answering another pertinent question and tied it in together,,

the average reader of the post probably has no clue the rock still wrestles so he wouldve been dumb not to bring it up at some point

Im not talking how much Rock is making in hollywood. Im talking about in WWE.

Even then, he gets a nice percentage of the WM buyrate returns. It's part of his deal:boss: When they release shirts or merchandise, it's not under the WWE banner. It's "The Rock and the WWE" Present....the guy is laughing all the way to the bank.

Ofcourse Rock would get a nice percentage. He has a big part to play. The point Im making is that at one time it was in HHH's best interest to look out for himself and now its in his best interest to look out for the company and if Rock contributes to that then :dj2:

People need to move on from the Attitude Era stars and focus on the current roster where guys like Punk and Sheamus are equivalent to Austin and Rock respectively.

Say he was, the question was about Austin and Punk, why turn it into how useless the Rock is in 2012?
Because he's foreshadowing Rock's eventual face to face with CM Punk, and both of their potential involvements at Wrestlemania 29. It's not more complicated than that, Pure business, kayfabe move. That type of answer would never fly with an Ariel Helwani or the LAW.

He's not talking to the Internet. He's talking to the New York Post dude, he's just there to sell tickets.

How did this turn into a 'who's better than who' thread again? tsc..
