Build credibility from being handed a belt and not facing Lesnar at the time? It was silly as a premise then and remains one till this very day. Especially considering the Katie Vick feuds, the unique burial of RVD when he was red hot, the unnecessary fukking over of Booker T in the build and during the match itself, the HORRIBLE Steiner shyt that led to "BORING" chants at two straight PPVs...Cripple H was supposed to be "the best in the business". Yet when he didn't have the 2000-2001 roster to spin off of, he was exposed as ordinary and not able to draw. He was complete garbage. The only reason he ever sounded that over and the only reason people BOUGHT into him during that NY return in 2002 is because of the hard work of others in 2000 and early 2001. He just kept looking good and people got behind that, much to their chagrin later on.

:ahh:

It's still real to some losers.

You would know, Little Richard, since you probably weren't watching jack shyt at that time and point considering you were probably just 12-13 years old. Amateurs.

[Barkley]Turrible. Just turrible.[Barkley]

I don't think he should've gone over RVD, Booker, or Y2J on Raw. At all. I know it's a work but still. Those three in particular could've been elevated as faces had they won in the end of their feuds with HHH.
Chris Jericho wins the WWF Title from HHH. - YouTube Look at that pop. :to:

I don't even know if the RVD feud should've happened. At least not the way it was thrown together. It was basically a three-week build to a match, wasn't even much of a feud... just a way to get the title defended on a PPV.

The Jericho thing... I think that might be the most overrated thing ever when it comes to things people consider to be burials. It ain't like Jericho was in line to actually win the belt... Rock and HHH were about to headline Backlash PPV when they did that match. That was just something to move the storyline ahead. I don't know why this was treated like a legit win that H used his "power" to overturn... I mean yeah, that's what happened on TV but it's not still real to me... :heh:

I know bruh, it wasn't a burial but a Jericho face/tweener run with the WWF title would've been great :sadcam: Rock/Y2J/HHH for the title at Backlash would've been good :manny:

True... but I can't say Jericho took any kinda loss at all for that angle they did. Before that, he was strictly midcarding with Angle, Chyna, Eddie, Hardcore Holly, etc. After that match, he was tagging with Rock against the McMahon/Helmsley faction every week and doing promos on Vince and Stephanie. And with Austin, Foley, and Taker out of the picture he was the #2 face for at least a lil' while. I'd say it helped him more than it hurt him.

Immediately after the FAKE title win over hhh, the mania main event where he lost, he PLUMMETS DOWN THE CARD and is only brought back with the fukkery with christian

That's buried.

The "fake win" was in April 2000... the Mania main event was in March 2002... how does the word "immediately" even come into play? :russ:

He did get knocked down the card in 2002, no doubt about that. But that's a wild ass timeline you got there.

And it was pretty much a given that HHH was winning the title at that Mania... it was right after he came back from injury and turned face. Now that storyline and how they made Jericho a bit player in his own main event feud, and the fact that they were both overshadowed by Rock vs Hogan is another story.

The only thing mistaken was the date of the fake win. Look at jericho on that timeline. Nuff said. By the end of the hhh reign of terror he was doing random tags in match 1 and 2 and shyt and fukkin around with christian.

Not sure I follow...

The fake win was after Mania 2000 when Jericho had been in the WWF for about 8 months and hadn't had anything above midcard feuds by then. Matter fact, that match kinda came outta nowhere cause he was feuding with Eddie over the Euro title just the week before.

Over the next two years, he won the IC title a couple times, teamed w/ Benoit to go over Austin and HHH for the tag belts, was a main part of the WWF/Alliance feud, won the title at Vengeance 2001... then lost the title to a returning HHH at WrestleMania. I don't dispute that he definitely moved down the card after that spring, but I don't see how him losing to HHH buried him. The booking after that (and in many ways, during) is what buried him for the rest of that year. But it's not like it was some big shock that he didn't retain at Mania.

I don't see where the win on Raw has anything to do with anything tho'. He went on to better things after that.

This "burial" thing is a bit strong. I mean the Goldberg thing was DEFINITELY a burial. Booker may have been due to the build up. The rest though, seems like a heel going over.

Brehs, Dustin Rhodes, Erik Watts, Jeff Jarrett, Greg Gagne and Brian Lawler were all guys pushed by their fathers, I don't understand why HHH is so different. Is it because it happened in a time where we all know wrestling terminology? Or maybe because the WWE is a much larger scale? Idk but the way I see it is he did what he was told with some input due to his power. Yes his reigns were tedious but let's not act like he did all of this without Vince McMahon knowledge or blessing.

Paul Levesque is really only a cut or two above Miz in terms of actual main event believability but he was a great classic heel so it worked. Maybe we were just mad because he did his job right?

The heel has to be booked strong so when the conquering face goes over he looks like a superhero. Granted he didn't make too many new main event stars in that time but its good he didn't. If he had he would look like Jericho right now where if you beat him it doesn't look like a huge deal. Its all a work... its a fukking work :ohhh:

HHH is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is but in the long run he was a heel we DESPERATELY wanted to see lose. Wether we like it or not, dude was last of a dying breed :manny:
