Nah you smoking. Even when he was a mega face in the 80's he was entertaining. Hogan is a God, brotha.

Stop lying about those HHH matches. After that SS 02 match with HBK, HHH was getting back to form and having good matches unless working with total bums like Nash or Drop Foot Steiner.

No he wasn't. There's not one good damn match you nor anyone here remembers Cripple H did after Summerslam 2002 until the Benoit WM XX and Shelton Benjamin job two weeks after that in like 2004.

I always look at that Evolution era run as their attempt to bring back the Horsemen-era Ric Flair (hence the belt). Flair was going over everyone for years, and even when he'd lose belt, he'd get it right back. Flair went over Sting, Dusty, Luger, Windham, the Garvins, Nikita, Road Warriors, Ricky Morton... everybody that was a legit face. It literally took Flair leaving in '91 for the title picture to open up some, because otherwise it was Flair holding the title or challenging for it. Was it Flair burying everyone, or was it Flair maintaining his spot at the top?

Not saying HHH was the draw Flair was... but Flair became a draw because of the way he was booked. People WANTED to see him lose the belt. I think they attempted to do that with HHH, and it ain't like everybody he went against deserved or were supposed to win anyway. You can't be the top heel if every face you wrestle wins. Some of those definitely shouldn't have went down the way they did... but I ain't about to act like a slew-footed Scott Steiner or a 45-year-old injury prone Nash had any business winning shyt in '03.

The "HHH as Flair" thing didn't work tho'... especially since there were way more people with internet access and opinions in 2003 than 1986. They tried that old school heel champ thing, even gave him the same belt and a crew to go along with it... but only Flair can be Flair.

Build credibility from being handed a belt and not facing Lesnar at the time? It was silly as a premise then and remains one till this very day. Especially considering the Katie Vick feuds, the unique burial of RVD when he was red hot, the unnecessary fukking over of Booker T in the build and during the match itself, the HORRIBLE Steiner shyt that led to "BORING" chants at two straight PPVs...Cripple H was supposed to be "the best in the business". Yet when he didn't have the 2000-2001 roster to spin off of, he was exposed as ordinary and not able to draw. He was complete garbage. The only reason he ever sounded that over and the only reason people BOUGHT into him during that NY return in 2002 is because of the hard work of others in 2000 and early 2001. He just kept looking good and people got behind that, much to their chagrin later on.
