So...... 4 years ago I watched the unconscious spiral of persuasion amongst fans/hip hop critics on the unanimous declaration that Dwayne Carter's C3 was a classic. I'm a lil Wayne fan but unlike most fans in hip hop I didn't see what the big deal was
The Syrup and commercial joints (Loli pop, La La W/Busta, Tie My Hands, Dr.Carter, Phone home) were enough for me to status the album as
There was allot of hype leading up the joint. A banger had been dropped W/ C2 and a couple classic mix tapes had the streets on fire and thirsty for C3
Instead of fans being critical then.. They sang his praise.... IMO, the syrup had already begun to destroy the animal you heard on C1 & C2. Allot of the songs that made the final C3 track listing were MEH @ best compared to the work on his mixtapes and "The Leak"
Now 4 years later the fans have reverted to the next extreme and are claiming he has fallen off. There really isn't much of a difference between Carter 3 & Carter 4. So why is Wayne all of a sudden trash?
Stop falling for the hype!
