So...... 4 years ago I watched the unconscious spiral of persuasion amongst fans/hip hop critics on the unanimous declaration that Dwayne Carter's C3 was a classic. I'm a lil Wayne fan but unlike most fans in hip hop I didn't see what the big deal was :manny:

The Syrup and commercial joints (Loli pop, La La W/Busta, Tie My Hands, Dr.Carter, Phone home) were enough for me to status the album as :manny:

There was allot of hype leading up the joint. A banger had been dropped W/ C2 and a couple classic mix tapes had the streets on fire and thirsty for C3

Instead of fans being critical then.. They sang his praise.... IMO, the syrup had already begun to destroy the animal you heard on C1 & C2. Allot of the songs that made the final C3 track listing were MEH @ best compared to the work on his mixtapes and "The Leak"

Now 4 years later the fans have reverted to the next extreme and are claiming he has fallen off. There really isn't much of a difference between Carter 3 & Carter 4. So why is Wayne all of a sudden trash?

Stop falling for the hype! :umad:

And of course on No Ceilings, and I Am Not a Human Being nikka ain't fall off til after Rikers. He'll surprise us here and there an still be motivated on tracks with Drake and Ross tho. Wayne just got lazy and ain't got nothing to prove.

I'm hearing fans say things like "his punch lines are the same/corny" Um... Wayne's punch lines have been like that for a while. nikkas were literally singing his praises 4 years ago when the nikka was on tracks just mumbling (T.Pain Can't believe it, Shawty Low DEY KNOW Remix) now all of a sudden he's trash

Wayne was a monster between 04-07. I mean freak of nature.. He wasn't getting the respect until 2008. nikkas should have thought for themselves instead of worshipping lackluster work then (C3).

Wayne still has it in him.

C4 is worse than C3. There are no Let The Beat Build, Comfortable, or Dr. Carter type tracks on the former. The individuals labeling C3 as a classic are the ones who give GRODT the nod as well. They're doing it off the buzz, not the entire product. It's well known that many of those leaks are better than some of the material on the actual album.

I personally think his lyrics were also better on C3. At the time C3 was the weakest in the Carter series but i didnt think he was falling off. It was just a mediocre album. He has plenty in his catalog so I thought it was the norm.

Nobody is saying that. Wayne is far from garbage. However, when he got lazy 4 years ago nikkas were worshipping his shyt. Now 4 years later they hate him for the same shyt they loved.

Where was his respect when he was really on fire. That nikka was on fire from 2004-2007. His work ethic, lyrics, albums & mixtapes. When you compare C3 to his work during that run it doesn't hold up.

I can respect what you saying bruh cause nikkas that really followed weezy before the hype saw he started to kinda fall off a lil during all his autotune shyt but we still knew he had talent. Cause when he wants to really try he'll go in. Like the links I posted showed or No Ceilings for example/Bill Gates etc...

I never said that the songs you highlighted weren't nice or that the ones I named are crazy but they are certainly better than the product on C4. Dr. Carter was an actual concept. There is not even an attempt at creativity on C4.

How To Love is a terrible song. I will take that Babyface hook over Wayne singing every time.

You know a song is bad when loyal fans are saying "The video made me like it".
