We collectively changed our name before, we can do it again it enough of us get behind.
If not enough of do, just means people don't see it as that big of a deal.

People forget we collectively choose to be called african american, that wasn't something white people came up with for us.
This the type of petty stuff some people pay too much attention to.

Black is Black.

Not my fault you follow Tariq and got angst for Caribbeans.

I'm 40. I was born in America before you. How am I over comfortable?
The duration of your single generation here is irrelevant, and I'm 43. :umad:

One question will let me know if this exchange is worth my time: Are West Indians expressing "angst" when they wave they flag at the parade? Yes or no?

Why are North Americans arguing with South Americans about who is American?

As a UK person looking in this looks wild

I mean common sense

Guyana

northeastern corner of South America. Indigenous peoples inhabited Guyana prior to European settlement, and their name for the land, guiana (“land of water”), gave the country its name. Present-day Guyana reflects its British and Dutch colonial past and its reactions to that past. It is the only English-speaking country of South America.

So are u arguing about being Black? Being American? Or being United States National?

IMO, no. Its a parade. It's not an anti American event

I'm Black American. I'm African American. Im Black. My family is from Guyana.

I don't view myself different from a breh who got grandparents from North Carolina.

Your perspective with "who told you" is retarded
WTF is going on here

You are different than a breh with grandparents that come from north carolina, Thats obviously a different lineage then guyana

You are not fba/ados you stem from a different ethnicity

I'm still Black. I'm still African American.

The othering is pointless within the context of critiquing Tricks comments.
