What's a defender supposed to do? Lawrence is sprinting and slid late when the defender was already committed to tackling him.

If a QB decides to run, he's a ball carrier. If he doesn't want to get hit, get down well before a defender is around you. Protect yourself.

Thats the chickenshyt I talk about, but there isnt a SINGLE defender that will attempt to wrap and bring down an AJ Brown on the perimeter, but become Billy Badass when it comes to missiling HEADFIRST towards a diving QB.

Ive seen a LOT of refs let incidental contact go as long as a defender DOESNT attempt stupid shyt like the Kiko Alonso shyt trying to take off the head.
Man I’d truck the fukk outta aj brown :dahell:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
they should get rid of the slide. fukk it. Once you start running, you're a running back. Most QB's don't know how to use it any way. They will wait until the very last second to do it, and in some instances when the defender has already committed at full speed.

Yea, no matter what punishment al-Shaair gets, TL has to live with the effects of this hit for the rest of his life.
He should've kept running towards the sidelines but decided to run back to the field of play making him a free runner, IMO.

The hit new era late but it doesn't happen if Lawrence doesn't feel comfortable cutting back. The LB was probably thinking the same thing. Like "Oh this nikka cut back right into my lane, he's mine now"

In today’s NFL that hit is illegal :manny:

You can blame Trevor for deciding to slide at the last second but Al-Shamir leaned with his forearm that makes it look dirty and intentional.

I'm not entirely sure why you think this makes sense when the league has already established an environment to protect QBs from shyt like this.

This isn't the 80s.

This isn't a case where the contact was incidental and Aziz tried to mitigate the contact that he inflicted on Lawrence, which he could've easily done whilst also making sure that he completed a tackle (which wouldn't have gone further than a rudimentary flag). But instead this muh'fukka intentionally went head-hunting on a player he knew would be in a vulnerable state. It was a p*ssy ass cowardice ass move that he wouldn't dare attempt on someone like Barkley or Henry.

I gotta question someone's agenda if they're downplaying this.
You’re comprehending what I’m saying wrong. Def was a flag

My point was it wasn’t as bad as the thread title or others have made it. Also my general point was the rule changes specifically for QB’s is garbage.

If you run there is zero reason for you to not expect to get hit.

Wasn’t last second

These nfl nikkas have 1 of 1 reaction time close to baseball players and boxers

For bruh to even get that low on the tackle, he knew he was sliding

The fact dude is a captain for the Texans and he been doin dirty shyt since last season tells u about what Meco tellin the boys

They should really think about it. Sliding exposes yourself and a lot of these QBs wait until the last minute to slide. And then you have QBs like Josh Allen who's gonna exploit this sliding rule and truck defenders for extra yards.

And Lawrence is 6’6, he shouldn’t have to slide in the first place.

Quarterbacks don’t mind taking hits and sacks in the pocket, but when they run, they slide to avoid getting hit. It’s just unnatural.

It was not a dirty hit. Unfortunate but not dirty.

The defender just happened to launch at the exact same time that the QB started his slide.
Who launch to tackle someone with both forearms? How are you going to tackle someone with your forearms?

You throw "bows" to the head. He knew what he was doing.

Norfeast groovin…
Speaking of which :patrice:, I had noticed some years back that "Jacked Up" was discontinued after the death of Daryl Stingley (who was paralyzed as a result of a "Jacked Up" hit from Jack Tatum).

He shattered brehs spine after he talked shyt about going across the middle on the Raiders secondary. Them 70s football players were drugged up so demon time was more common.

Players today couldn’t play like that they too fast and strong.
