I don't think every rapper is responsible for doing the same shyt. Some rappers like to rep their locations heavy. Some are introspective. Some are socio-political. Some just rappity rap. I agree Travis could do more, but it doesn't hinder him imo. What does hinder him is that his lyricism isn't that incredible.
Redman is often accused of lacking in subject matter but he's on a lot of GOAT lists.
Respect your stance though.
Cant say that. Dude has sharked too many styles. But he does have one of the best teams around him and he deserves all his accomplishments off his work ethic though

He hadn't refined his sound/style yet but it was far from trash, come on now.
Some of his best songs are on there...Blocka La Flame, Hell of a Night, Bandz, Upper Echelon, Quintana. It is his worst project though.
I think Astroworld has catapulted him to superstar status. Numbers are there, critical acclaim is there.
Imo it’s actually pretty insulting to compare dudes like that to Travis and I’m not even a huge fan of the guy. Uzi and X don’t have any projects on the level of DBR, Rodeo, and Astroworld.

If we look at solo discography from 2013 onwards....Kanye has released Yeezus, Pablo, Ye. Meanwhile, Travis has released Owl Pharaoh, DBR, Rodeo, Birds and Astroworld.
None of Ye's albums IN THAT TIME SPAN are as good as DBR, Rodeo, Birds or Astro. None.
That was my point. I'm not saying early Ye was not better, because he obviously was better. But even then, DBR is a flawless mixtape. Literally one of the best ever made. Rodeo is a great album and so is Astroworld. I think over time, those can hold up as well as some of Ye's best work. I don't think the comparison is outlandish.
