:mjlol: How the hell are you so opinionated about a place you never been? Your info completely off base and not factual at all.

Its a few guys in this thread thats actually traveled to Japan and I lived there. Giving very good insight. Im speaking first hand experience. You definately need to sit this one out pal.

We get it. You dont like Japan but you never been. :camby:
Brehs just talking with no idea what they are talking about. It like a virgin telling someone what p*ssy feel like based off what they e heard.

the US dollar is worth alot more than the Japanese Yen after the pandemic, you can get a 5 night stay for 250-300 usd in some hotels,
im going to Japan next year too
you right. I haven't even been looking at Japan because the hotels made the trip not worth it. im going to go now

This is a great post. Been to Tokyo, And kyoto a few times for business. I’d like to go back and visit a few of these places. As stated many times, the flight is brutal. I flew business and it would take me two or three days just to remember my last name.

Kyoto was one of my favorite places in Japan. I have a vlog coming out about it.

I stayed in Sakura Terrace The Gallery, and I loved that quaint little hotel breh :noah: It was right by Kyoto station.

When I go back to Japan, I'm prolly going straight byke to Kyoto. Osaka was cool, but keep it a buck, I felt like I was here in Hollywood, on Hollywood Blvd.

Take me byke to Kyoto thooooo :blessed:

I did 15 hours direct to South Africa economy and was fine(I got strategies to avoid jet lag). I wonder if Japan is so much more brutal due to the time difference.

That's why I said Thailand. His food and accomodations will eat up that money and trying to get bunz too? You have to assume that the Japanese hoes will want to be wined and dined.

Yeah I'd boost it to at least $1500. I'm seeing some people recommend other regions that would require the bullet train, that is already like $200. There's some ways to stretch the dollar but between trying all of the great food, staying at hotels and buying things, money gets eaten up quickly. Because he's American the dollar is stretched a lot better for him due to exchange.

If he's set on going to Japan, it's best he goes. It's a lovely place and the curry alone is worth the flight time.

:noah:

Bring comfortable shoes you can walk in. You'll be walking a lot.

Also, OP if you know you're going to Asia, head to the doctor now and let them know so you can get some shots.

Picked up learning JP last year, it's going rough but since I plan to go myself in a couple of years I thought to least have some basics.

Had a chance to go after graduating HS way back around 2006 but life was hectic and I was too broke :mjcry:

Monsanto is spitting. Literally, all of this.

I didn't realize fam only had 1k to travel with. That might as well be $100. :sadcam:

My most recent trip to Japan cost me a cool $6k, and a bit of that was ate up in my flight. I like to travel comfortable; fukk flying for 12 hours from LAX to Narita on Economy/premium economy. I will NEVER do that. I flew on Zipair's business class. WORTH IT. Only thing I don't like about them is they don't have a screen to watch movies, so bring a laptop/iPad or video game console.

-The exchange rate is getting worse. It was $1= 150 yen back in October. It is currently $1= 130 yen.

-The Shinkansen (bullet train) is REQUIRED if you're going from Tokyo to the Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto, etc). My tickets to and back cost me just under $300. I have the ticket still, will update if I find it.

-I stayed at two separate hotels my last trip, the Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku and Sakura Terrace The Gallery in Kyoto. The Sakura was significantly cheaper, something like 80 bucks a night. Keio Plaza Hotel was expensive, and had a lot of Chinese travelers I noticed. I forget how much it was per night, but it wasn't 80 :mjlol:

- I learned from my last time in Japan back in May that wearing Jordans is NOT THE MOVE lmao. That's why in my recent IG posts, you almost always see me rocking Vans, because you will be walking 99% of the time. Japan is easy af to get around the country with Passmo/Suica and the train system, but you will be walking like a mf through them stations. I recommend buying a pair of Asics and you'll thank me later.

- I got sick both times I went to Japan this year, in May and October. Both were colds. Get whatever immunizations you need to get if you ain't used to traveling. You will regret it if you don't.

What about recommending a country with predominantly BLACK people living there :mjtf:

@Vodun Guadeloupe was amazing. You feel totally at ease as a Black person. Locals were friendly and very open.

- a LOTTA Black people
- huge middle-class
- great music scene (Konpa & Zouk is massive out there)
- Toptier Creole cuisine
- beautiful beaches
- It’s very green, beautiful nature if you’re into that
- the roads are very well maintained
- the feeling of actually being able to REALLY let your guard down and relax among many other Black people alone is fully worth it.

You can just be. They showed me a lotta love while I was out there

10/10 would recommend

Zipair is the cheapest business class that I've seen. I got bread, but I ain't trying to waste it if I don't have to, IYKYK.

Zipair's full flat (their business class name) round trip ran me 200,000 yen ($1,446) in May and about 300,000 yen ($2,169) in October. Prices went up. :francis:

Here is their website, it's simple to navigate and you can see current prices. They only go by yen.

Main caveat with them is they ONLY fly to Narita, and only from certain US airports. Luckily for me, I live in Los Angeles, and LA has a significant Japanese population, so we're on the list. For some people that's a dealbreaker because they'd rather fly in through Haneda airport, as it's a little closer to Tokyo (Narita Airport is like 1 hour away from Shinjuku).

I personally love Narita so I ain't never had a problem with it. I think when I go back in January I'm going to fly to Haneda though. I've never been.

Definitely the time difference. You leave NYC sat at 11am you land in Narita Monday afternoon feeling drunk as hell.
:francis:
After a few years I just took a Valium and slept the whole flight.

Props. I'm in buttfukk Florida tho. :dead:

So from your previous post, play money for a single traveler should be around $3k+?

You better than me, business class was running at $5000 at the time. I think I spent $1000-$1500 on the ticket and was hoping to upgrade but the plane is a two time affair I was good on that. Live in Canada, brehs.

I brought 3 pairs of shoes, wore the air Jordan 1 once while I was out there, never again. Ended up staying at a club for a minute and afterwards me and my boys decided to walk back from Shibuya to the hotel - a 2 hour walk - because we missed the trains.

Somehow I got lost after getting food, then it started to rain, phone died and made it back to my room at 6am. Mind you, we left the club after 2am and trains don't open back up until 4:30.

:picard:

I know Tokyo like the back of my hand now.

Narita is super nice. I was stuck at the airport for a day because we landed after a typhoon hit the surrounding area. Thankfully I had just enough Japanese to ask around what was going on. They got everything in that one, it's pretty much a mall.
