Monsanto is spitting. Literally, all of this.
I didn't realize fam only had 1k to travel with. That might as well be $100.
My most recent trip to Japan cost me a cool $6k, and a bit of that was ate up in my flight. I like to travel comfortable; fukk flying for 12 hours from LAX to Narita on Economy/premium economy. I will NEVER do that. I flew on Zipair's business class. WORTH IT. Only thing I don't like about them is they don't have a screen to watch movies, so bring a laptop/iPad or video game console.
-The exchange rate is getting worse. It was $1= 150 yen back in October. It is currently $1= 130 yen.
-The Shinkansen (bullet train) is REQUIRED if you're going from Tokyo to the Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto, etc). My tickets to and back cost me just under $300. I have the ticket still, will update if I find it.
-I stayed at two separate hotels my last trip, the Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku and Sakura Terrace The Gallery in Kyoto. The Sakura was significantly cheaper, something like 80 bucks a night. Keio Plaza Hotel was expensive, and had a lot of Chinese travelers I noticed. I forget how much it was per night, but it wasn't 80
- I learned from my last time in Japan back in May that wearing Jordans is NOT THE MOVE lmao. That's why in my recent IG posts, you almost always see me rocking Vans, because you will be walking 99% of the time. Japan is easy af to get around the country with Passmo/Suica and the train system, but you will be walking like a mf through them stations. I recommend buying a pair of Asics and you'll thank me later.
- I got sick both times I went to Japan this year, in May and October. Both were colds. Get whatever immunizations you need to get if you ain't used to traveling. You will regret it if you don't.
