I comprehend the meaning of both words but the differences are too minimal for them to be two different words...
The differences are not minimal at all, to say so proves you do not know what you are talking about. One is being in fear of small spaces even if you can leave and the other is the fear of being confined/trapped regardless of the space, not the same at all.

I do 12 hour flights from Japan and the U.S. every year and the only time I was a little bit shook is when I flew over Alaska in the winter. The sea was covered in ice and it was damn near pitch black. Just completely desolate and devoid of life. Definitely creepy.

Going to Turkey on my own in three weeks
Never travelled alone before, kinda nervous :sadcam:
Compartmentalization is the key. Step 1. Organize your belongings and what your bringing. Step 2. Get to the airport. Step 3. Check in. Step 4. Security. Step 5. Boarding. Etc etc. That’s how I’ve learned to handle flying. Break the trip down a you don’t get overwhelmed.

I was gonna use my own words. This said it better then I could.

"it can be nearly impossible to distinguish between them. Both phobias often cause anticipatory anxiety, in which you begin to panic long before the actual event occurs.3

Cleithrophobia may mirror claustrophobia if you see even a slight risk of becoming trapped in the space. Likewise, claustrophobia often mirrors cleithrophobia in that many people with claustrophobia may feel trapped or locked in, even if they are actually free to leave."

No issues flying but going overseas can be rough...even direct flights.

Flew to Europe, direct & overnight....plane was so damn loud even with the best noise canceling earbuds, a blanket, cover for my eyes etc., I slept all of 10 minutes over 9 hours.

Wifey sleeps like a baby on planes but I can't, not even a little bit.

I generally love flying. I've always loved airplanes (except propeller planes) and wanted to be a pilot when I was a kid. I would classify myself as an "avgeek".

Anyway, I watch TV shows and movies with the IFE (In-flight entertainment) system and also look out the window - I always book a window seat.

I never had a fear of flying. Nowadays, I’m usually asleep on the first flight, and then awake for the second leg if it’s not non stop.

The only time flying gets uncomfortable is on international flights because i end up sleeping as much as I can and still have hours before I get to my destination. The longest I had was from Doha to Sydney and I remember being awake for most of that flight because I had flown from Lebanon the day before.

I get motion sickness on flights, so I'm always flying on dramamine. For lengthy flights, I also take Gravol and throw on a Scopolamine patch. I always throw in my earbuds and put on Spotify or an audibook (currently have Phil Jackson's 'The Last Season' on standby.) I tend to sleep through plane rides whenever I fly, and if I'm not sleep, I'm drowsy & relaxed enough that nothing is going to bother me outside of the plane outright plunging nose down.
p*ssy.
