i cant stand Michael bay and the way he's fukked up this series...i was done with the series after 1....but then i saw the trailer for 2, saw prime whip out the double swords and devastator, and i was there first week...then i was def done after that piece of shyt 2, till i saw the trailer for 3 and chicago, and I was there first week....so I was gonna avoid this movie cause of bullshyt from 1-3, but seeing grimlock in the trailer will have me there probably day 1, smh...
I have to keep my expectations low for these, but honestly, they're a guilty pleasure.
With that being said, each time one has dropped, it causes me to go watch the original.

its a movie about transforming robots fighting and every fight scene been dope, (especially the goat forrest fight) wtf else do u want from it

I think a lot of the complaining is unwarranted, but some of the gripes are legit. Like the butchering that Bay has done to many of the characters, and the abundance of human involvement. If this is a movie based on fighting robots then let us see fighting robots and keep them silly parents, bickering teenage couple, slow motion shots of a flawless hot girl in the middle of a war zone, and U.S. military advertising crap to a minimum. At 4 movies into the franchise, we should be at a point where we don't need to have humans involved at all....Have the movie take place in space and not Chicago for a change of pace

I feel like dudes are looking at that cartoon through rose colored glasses. I have season one of it on dvd and remember watching it with my suite mates my freshman year of college and you talk about terrible. The entire cartoon was made just to sell toys that's it and it shows. Bay didn't do anything with the material that should be considered foul or out of bounds when the initial incarnation was terrible at best
Question for you breh, and its a serious one, not me trying to start shyt at all: Obviously on the internet, the popular thing is to say "such and such ruined my childhood" or "raped my childhood" but my question to you is, is your childhood ruined or turned into puss cheese on film if you can always go back and watch the stuff you loved as a kid? Its not like Bay's movies caused the cartoon to cease to exist or evaporate and your childhood is still intact right?

I love G1 like many of you but let's face it. A lot of their stories weren't up to snuff. It was all about cramming a filtered story into a 22 minute cartoon, get it out there, and sell toys. It wasn't until later that writers realized you could actually make story arcs out of this and that is where the comics and later tv shows (Beast Wars, Armada, Animated, Prime) flourished.

Nah fukk that, that's my childhood too and to see these robots in live action is a childhood dream come true.
On the real, I think a lot of people with strong opinions like yours are caught up in how piff the animated movie was. Story wise, Bay's films don't hold a candle to that classic but they are on par with the tv story lines. Unfortunately we have to suffer with the human interaction because 2 hours of CGI robots going ham is really fukkin expensive and I think the human element is what pisses people off the most. Especially Shia running around screaming "Beeeeeeee!!!!!" And "Optimusssss!!!!!!" A hundred fukking times

It's a movie about GIANT TRANSFORMING ROBOTS what's there to butcher For all those that say well the old cartoon didn't have humans being the focus of the show...... there were entire episode dedicated to the human characters Chip, Spike,Sparkplug, and that break dancing 80's stereotype Latino kid that was tagging and stealing cars. Heck even 1/3 of the animated movie was focused on Daniel being worried about Spike.
I loved and still love G1 Transformers series, Transformers the Movie is still one of my favorite animated movies of all time and prefer them waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the Bay films. But I still love the Bay movies I could watch them whenever they come on. The 1st was the best of the series, 2nd was weaker than the rest but still enjoyable, and the 3rd had the best action. I would have liked the 1st 3 films to have at least include more of the seekers like Thundercracker,Skywarp,Thrust,Dirge,and Ramjet but it didn't take away from the film. Nor did I have any problem with the deviations from the transformers to focus on the humans these are Hollywood features and not cartoons you should automatically expect humans to take a major role whether it's about giant robots or not.
