The album that song was on won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk album
Also,
@Chad Warden “folk and country have nothing in common. She won a folk award but comparing folk and country is nonsensical!”

@Chad Warden “she may have used typical country I-IV-V-I chord progressions in typical keys in many of her songs, but I don’t give a shyt….her boots weren’t big enough thus it wasn’t country”

@Chad Warden “it doesn’t matter if the song is considered country now that a white guy is singing it (with the same chord progressions, structure that her ‘non-country’ song has)”

@Chad Warden ”trust me, Im the arbiter of what is and isn’t Country…I took an hour-long music theory class on YouTube and I used to make shytty ass beats on Fruity Loops back in the day”

:ohhh: Oh snap, this came out in 88?? Why was I listening to this at age 7/8? This was my shyt, I had the album on tape. :skip:

I didn't know she was in ABC. :ehh: (@#1 pick)

Raised a Baptist, she attended an Episcopal high school[5] and was accepted into the program A Better Chance, which sponsors students at college preparatory high schools away from their home communities. She graduated from Wooster School in Connecticut then attended Tufts University, majoring in Anthropology.[4][3][7][8] While a student at Tufts, she busked in nearby spots, including Harvard Square and on MBTA Red Line platforms.
Her content was always massively better in terms of quality than most artists. Proud of Tracy

The rest of the album was mid. But this was a great song about how naive and hopeful women are when they start dating loveable losers. Then pressures mount on them when family and finances meet the fantasies in their rabid ass minds.

You'll find work and I'll get promoted :mjlol:

That dude ain't finding Sh1t.

Speaking of Baby Can I Hold You, I love this Hawaiian remake/version:
