Although Id like to see my people taken more seriously men dressing up as women is as common in thespianism as is the art of comedy.
This is in any culture. Look at english acting- the bulk of a lot of their less pretentious humor is slapstick and men dressing up as women. Bollywood is the same way and has a much larger prescence than african films and african american movie writers and actors put together. Hell if you watch some of the telemundo shyt you see fat hairy men with a wig and too much makeup on acting a fool.
I know we aren't supposed to compare ourselves to other and are supposed to just be better than everyone else even though it's proven that no one is really better than anyone but men dressing up as women for comedic purposes has gone on well before african americans were seen as humans and not property which is before they were allowed to read or write, let alone see a play let alone act in a role, get paid for a role, write a role,
