If you're talking about the lyrics and subject matter, yeah, but after seeing Tory's process and focus in the studio I changed my mind about how I felt about it. He's all about capturing the sound and emotion of the songs now, rather than just telling a story. If you look at his earlier work, that's all he used to do, tell stories within the music, but he's now shifted that focus to just wanting to make people feel good when they hear his music and singing along.

I saw it as maturity in the craft, but some may see it as a dumbing it down and I can't blame them. :yeshrug:
A for effort, but unfortunately for me it has to translate to good music I enjoy, most popular 80s songs sound better than the songs on this album, the single was the best song…..

Been jammin it in the whips back and forth. Funny thing is, Tory posted before he dropped this that way to much music out now is unmemorable, I need to find his post about so I'm correct in mentioning it. He went way left with this project and it worked.

EDIT:

Not my cup of tea but I be damn if this isn't a fresh breath of air. Don't realise it but my ear is tired of the same beats/flows/vibes.

The last ear I played more 70s,80s Soul and R&B than ever. Shout out to the Queen Sade and Steph Mills!
