A for effort, but unfortunately for me it has to translate to good music I enjoy, most popular 80s songs sound better than the songs on this album, the single was the best song…..If you're talking about the lyrics and subject matter, yeah, but after seeing Tory's process and focus in the studio I changed my mind about how I felt about it. He's all about capturing the sound and emotion of the songs now, rather than just telling a story. If you look at his earlier work, that's all he used to do, tell stories within the music, but he's now shifted that focus to just wanting to make people feel good when they hear his music and singing along.
I saw it as maturity in the craft, but some may see it as a dumbing it down and I can't blame them.
