I didn’t get Chronicles 2 but heard you don’t need that to play this... would I be lost if I played this before the base game?

It’s like playing mass effect 2 before playing 1. You don’t have to for storyline purposes but this game is technically better in every way. The graphics the ighting system the menus are all improved but xc2 is wort it regardless

You'll get more out of it if you played the base game first.
It's a great supplement to the base game, I can't judge it as a standalone cause I put in 180 hours into the base game before i ever touched this
I'm 25 hours in and it's an all time great DLC.

Im also 30 hours into X1 and want to finish that first.

I honestly wish I'd played this before "XC2". This is a prequel to it and gives a lot of back story to characters from that game.

You need "XC2" regardless, the game is crack.

Game is low key sad as fukk because 90% of the people in it are dead in "XC2".

I just picked this up from Best Buy but Valkyria Chronicles 4 comes out in a few days so I don't plan to get into it yet. Too many games on deck and not enough time.

I think it's better to play the main game first. There's some story beats that tie better together if you've played the main game

The ending will be a major downer if you haven't played the main game. It's still a downer regardless but I think it's better to experience Jin as he is in the base game before playing Torna

The bare minimum for just the story I’d say is 20 hrs.

Although there was enough content in this DLC to spend 50-60 hrs. That is my reg file on normal difficulty and ng+ file on bringer of chaos difficulty.

Okay I got too many games so I will probably do 20-25 in this.
