It's out and I already downloaded it but I probably won't get a chance to get into it for a couple days.

The fact that it's a prequel kinda puts me off to it. I've never really heard the pitch of any prequel and thought that's a interesting story to tell I really want them to make that.
I was wondering why this thread was so dead then I realized it's not officially out until Friday. 
Anyway, I been playing this and it's dope as fukk. They really bumped the graphics up, it looks real nice.
Combat system is almost completely different....Drivers can now equip weapons separately from their Blade, and you can play as your Blade directly. And when you swap them in it's kinda like "Marvel vs Capcom" where they do a quick attack (in this case, Break, Topple, Launch, Smash) and you regain HP when you swap characters. Also each character has a Technique Art which gives you a big boost (recharges all your Arts instantly, lets you evade all attacks for 10 seconds) but also has a downside (halves your HP instantly, uses all your Arts) so you gotta be strategic with how you use them.
I've only been playing a little while so I haven't found a town or Inn but you can use camp fires to rest (and spend extra EXP), craft things, or prompt conversations with your party.
So far this is well worth the money.

I didn't hear the pitch of that game and think it would make an interesting title. Also the game pretty much stands on its own. It's superior to the game it was a prequel to.Berseria

That's the first thing I said, I was like damn its like this is the next gen version or something. and I agree with everything you said they improved almost every aspect of the original

Mostly filling out affinity charts for now. It's a lot more manageable than the main game cause there are only 6 blades total. I'm already almost 4 levels completely filled out on Jin's chart.

I'm level 60 in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (I beat Odyssey and BOTW, with all shrines completed), I think BOTW is my favorite game on the Switch BUT if Xenoblade 2 continues to keep me glued, I may have to reconsider. The storyline is probably better than BOTW.
