Naomi Harris is 42 NOW. She would be 44 or 45 when BP2 drops. Factor in sequels and OG X-Men shyt she would be like 55 when her run ends. Factor in that Chadwick looks like he's 30. Halle wasn't that old in 2000.

GOT chick will be 32 when BP2 drops. It's not about her acting quality with Naomi. They are not casting a 42 year old Storm.

Storm should be african because thats her whole origin and background. It would be kinda to people worhshipping a white woman as a goddess in africa.
Some characters can gender and race swap with no issues because their origins isn't directly tied into their ethnicity but people like Storm and Black Panther should definitely be african. they wouldn't be the same character otherwise. Might as well use an entirely new character if thats the case.

I think this is a smart approach overall for the X-Men characters to come into the Marvel Cinematic Universe sprinkle them in other stories related with other characters so it seems more natural when they come together
