Overrall i dont care about Serge tho.If you read any of my posts the last week i wanted Christian Wood....Im just pissed Masai waiting on Ibaka to get stiffed and have no other options which is kind of an amateur move for him.....I understand next year and cap space but i dont agree we should be punting on this season which is why i never agreed that signing Ibaka to a 1 year contract was a good idea....I hate bringing back a team thats not good enough and we know this team with Serge wasnt good enough...Let him move on sign someone younger more athletic deal with the cap consequences in the 2nd half of the season...You can always move Norm,Lowry or anyone else to free up space if need be but never just punt on a season.....
Im a realistic fan of this team,i dont think Giannis is even 50/50 anymore and we shouldnt be moving like it is....We couldnt keep Ibaka why do we think we can GET Antetokounmpo ? TBH there are better situations with better cap flexibility than ours and thats a discredit to this FO who regularly is called brilliant for no reason...

Because hes 24 has a more polished offensive game and would have been cheaper allegedly...Im not going at Ibakas neck,im going at posters in here calling him a good defender or an upgrade based on erroneous talking points.Im just calling him what he is,a bad defender and thats ONE of the reasons i wanted to move on from him...The other being hes 31.
IM not saying anything i have not repeated over and over in the last years team thread complaining about Ibaka's lack of def awareness...its just what it is.
Realistically, there was very little this off-season that was going to be exciting for the Raptors. I think we need to be patient to see where this goes. This year was always gonna be a treadmill year with Siakam and Lowry on the books anyway. Those guys alone are good enough to get you a 6-8 seed and it’s clear the team wasn’t going to move them.
For some reason, I’m almost certain we gonna end up with one of Giles or Baynes. Just a gut feeling. I’d prefer Giles though.

I think its silly to punt on this year for cap space thats never benefited us in the past,which is why i would prefer to move some guys around and re tool this year.
Whats the point having cap room if we cant get nobody and if we cant all this pre planning for it looks dumb as hell...I have a feel,ing this season could get ugly actually,were banking on Lowry to still be a star im not confident how much longer we can keep riding him expecting him to carry us....If Lowry takes his stepback this year it could real ugly.....Masai and Bobby didnt plan this out well at all.
I would love to know what we offered Serge.I have a feeling based on the info i just read it was probably about 12-15 mil for 1 year.Which makes it funny we couldnt pay him enough because we have 85 million tied up in Lowry,VV and Siakam which doesnt seem like a good strategy for contending.

That said, I’m not too excited that Fred is back cuz he’s the prototypical thinks he’s better than he is type player who won’t know his role and let Siakam attempt to develop some leadership qualities. If this team is as invested in Siakam being the franchise guy as it seems they are then they need to be a lot smarter about his development. Like you, I don’t expect Lowry to be able to carry this team the whole year—he’s never shown the ability to do that. He tends to gas out after a few months of being the guy. That means Siakam and FVV gonna have to step up, which poses a bit of an issue since FVV is not even an all star calibre guard and Siakam won’t assert himself and grow into his role with strong personalities like Fred around. I’m really curious to see what the Raptors have in the bag next. If Siakam continues to show bytchmade tendencies next year then we ain’t grabbing no big name free agents and we will have to start this shyt over from scratch... The backup plan to Kawhi leaving was always Giannis but that’s not gonna happen...so the backup to that is Siakam and FVV? That’s just gonna be like Lowry and Derozan all over again. Better off trying to move Lowry and Norm to get younger or just tanking altogether...
I’ll remain optimistic for now but I’m certainly not having high expectations for this team...
