Heavily Armed
The answer will always be Frieza. Straight sociopath and will be polite the entire time too

Raditz
Garlic Jr
Freeza
Raditz set the stone for the entire DBZ, he was way stronger than the heroes, they had to use smarts and tactics to win the fight, Piccolo breaking out experimental moves, Goku having to sacrifice himself for piccolo to kill him, it was one of the best fights in anime.
Garlic Jr is feeler, but that Dead Zone movie had some the best fighting choreography and music in the entire series, Piccolo was in his bag the whole movie his intro was swagged out, Goku's fight against the minions look like some jackie chan shyt
and in the Garlic Jr filler saga they had to beat him without Goku which was refeshing
and Freeza was meant to be the last boss, until the paid him to make more, so no villain will ever be able to top what they did in that saga, he seemed impossible to beat the entire time until super saiyan came out the blue even thought it was foreshadow, it was unexpected
Vegeta , Frieza , KID Buu
Not Fat Buu
but Kid Buu literally birthed the fusion dance ,, didn't Kid Buu basically kill off the whole cast before Goku had to drop the Spirit Bomb on him
of course , Vegeta ad Frieza are the OG antagonist til the series dies off
I see people picking Cell but lets be honest here . Goku coulda finished him off himself but decided to "sacrifice" himself to unlock his son's hidden potential
The thing with Buu is, he's powerful and all that but as a character he's really thin.
Literally has no backstory, personality or motive other than just being a random monster that wants to destroy everything. He's more of a plot device than an actual character.
Agreed with everythingI voted King Piccolo, Vegeta, and Frieza.
King Piccolo is slept on (OG Dragonball as a whole is slept on, really). Dude legit took over the world and straight up murked the eternal dragon. When he beat Goku so badly that his heart stopped
Vegeta was dope for his backstory and shared ancestry with Goku, which really opened up and expanded the Dragonball universe. His fight with Goku at the end of the Saiyan Saga was low key better than the Frieza fight (which was too long, IMO).
Frieza might be the overall GOAT villain in the franchise. He was ruthless from day 1 with a vast empire, ambitions towards universal conquest, and vast armies of evil henchmen that he routinely killed when they screwed up. Frieza did a lot more to push the narrative forward (destroying the planet Vegeta), and pushed Goku over the edge like no other villain has ever really done since. Super Saiyans are played out to me, but when Goku did it that first time after all that buildup…
For me Cell gets the number 4 spot.
He was dope when he was sneaking around and ducking the heroes, but I feel like his rise to power wasn’t really earned. He only got stronger because the heroes kept messing up. His trash talk at the end of the cell games was legendary though
I wouldn’t put Pilaf anywhere in my top 5, but I still like him. He was always a funny character because of his incompetence, and you could never truly get rid of him (in the OG Dragonball). He reminds me of Buggy the Clown in One Piece.
I’m not a fan of Buu. Buu is too much of a one note character IMO. Fat Buu was probably the most interesting just because that was the only version of Buu with any trace of personality, and he actually had an arc and interesting character dynamics (like his genuine friendship with Hercule).
I like the Red Ribbon saga, but Commander Red was a trash villain. You mean to tell me that he commissioned all of those weapons and soldiers to stage conquest and mass murder just for a wish to get taller!? Just buy a pair of platform shoes and be done with all that clown mess
(To be fair, Dragonball started as a gag manga so that might have been the point.)
Mercenary Tao was by far the dopest villain in that whole arc. I kind of wish he was one of the poll options.
