HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm saying, Pete has a 31-5-5 season on his résumé. Jason Williams has... Some And-1 highlights.
We had one player in this era, bruh.... can't we just have him?
(No, Dirk doesn't count. I wish he did, tho )

It's really not even all that, a lot of it is WHEN he turned the ball over. And especially his early Kings years.ain't no thing mayne.
I think Williams always took a lot of heat from older fans of the game (and older white folk in the sports media) because of his style of play. basically any time he turned the ball over trying to do something fancy they would shine the spotlight on it even though he protected the ball very well 95% of the time.
Williams could make one or two mistakes during a game and some people would be like "that son of a bytch is way too cocky and needs to calm down", but then someone like Isiah or Stockton could turn the ball over four times in a game and those same people would be like "well they can't carry the team by themselves!!!".
Hubie didn't neuter Jason Williams, he actually turned him into a better, more responsible player.Thats my Grizzlies point guard neutered by the legendary Hubie Brown

guess he wasn't lazy enough to make one up that time"turnover machine"?
that is without a doubt the biggest myth that has always been attached to him simply because of his flashy style. it's not true at all. as a matter of fact he has a better turnover rate than all of the point guards below and the majority of all.
let's compare his turnovers to other popular PG's

nikka you sound mad salty for some reasonHe did the back elbow pass in the fukking ROOKIE game! it's not like he was doing it on regular basis. Most pgs in the NBA have their own tricks and plays anyway. Jason williams can't do the shyt that Baron Davis used to do either.
at these plays, brehs. this nikka was showtime supreme
look at how he had my man john stockton on skates got one!
hol up we passin wit elbows now
and he did my man gary so dirty at the end
all the glove could do was smile and pay respects
jason
It's really not even all that, a lot of it is WHEN he turned the ball over. And especially his early Kings years.
By the time Jason got to Memphis Hubie Brown turned him into a legitimate point guard who rarely turned the rock over, but those first few years he was in the league he'd do dumb shyt in close games like pull up for long range threes up by 2 with a couple of minutes to go, or throw ill advised behind-the-back passes down by 1 with 45 seconds to go or some shyt. Basically he was playing that flashy style the WHOLE game and never toning it down. After he got with Hubie down, ALL that shyt changed.
I still remember him pulling up for a long three on a 4-on-1 break when he was with the Heat and that shyt clanking out of bounds and having the though. But he was entertaining as fukk to watch, and despite the way some of his turnovers looked he was a TREMENDOUS ballhandler. It should be noted that all of (or most of, at the very least) his turnovers were coming off of bad decision making and never off of somebody TAKING the ball from him.
Another thing, it's hard to compare his turnover ratio to a guy like Chris Paul or Steve Nash or John Stockton even because Jason never pounded the ball for the full shot clock like those guys did.... thankfully.
I swear Peja was channeling his inner J-Will when he unleashed this one
