a colony near you
museum had no black people walking around.

was too lazy to put the pics on here, but there is so much interesting shyt there.

What's going on? I get it that the science center of MI wouldn't be the most exciting place for a kid on SAT, but fukk what kids want to do - they should just follow the parents.

There were asian couples on top of asian couples. A few white couples. 1 white lady w pasty kids n they were speaking some other language and all looked so white that u could see veins in their head..

middle eastern families...

1 other black parent and she had a kid n stroller, was pregnant, and had a kid walking w her.. lol. me n her both weren't part of any couple :patrice:

The Museum has so many activities and exhibits - they make it fun as hell for kids.

IT's in the middle of the city w the largest black population by far - so where are the black kids at?
And what could we do about this as the people who invented science, math, and technology?

You're still obsessed :laff:

So yeah we've been twice......

it really wasn't that many white families. There were enough white families, but compared to population asians, mid east people n shyt- were in there deep.

Is there a such thing as a creationist museum?
Yeah, I Think they call it church, breh :ld:. There was also some crazy creationist museum in Religulous, but i gotta imagine thats the most extreme worse shyt Maher could find. not the rule by any means.

No black people at the science museum?

There aren't any black people at the library either.

Well as long as you have ignorant people equating universities/education/museums/culture in general with "being white/selling out/being a c00n", what exactly do you expect? Mfers take "pride" in being ignorant and shyt.

You can say the same about most parents in general. America as a whole is lagging in math and science, it's not just a black problem.

Yup. You guys often forget you're not much of the total population here. It would be just as silly making a thread after visiting a sports stadium surrounded by all the white people in the stands asking if there are any black sports fans.

I agree.. but in a city like Detroit, you would think there would be more than 1 black family.

Also, based on need. - think black kids need to be there.

Also, asian groups were overrepresented in there.

Also, the black people are playing the sports and/or watching from home and aren't as excited about tailgating n shyt.

damn shame... the real problem is religion

blacks are the most religious race in the USA
and when religion frowns on science... there goes ur problem
our future looks bleak...
if we dont begin to revolutionize our way of thinking
religion could be da downfall of black people

The vast majority of our young people aren't really interested in science.... religion hardly has anything to do with that.

NTM, most black people who say they are Christian, don't even go to church, pray, read the bible, or know anything about religion. It's more of a cultural thing to say that ur one. Not too many of us are consumed with religion.

"when religion frowns on science... there goes ur problem" - don't you think this is naive and simplistic?

Take away religion and you will not increase an interest in science or an increase in black parents trying to get their children interested in science.

And honestly, only the extreme few people of any religion 'frown on science'. More than likely they just don't give a shyt about science just like the majority of people in general.

You need to get down on that season pass broham:smile:

I notice this shyt all the time too. It really boils down to two things. Money (at least in Phx our science museum can be pricey for a poor family with more than one kid.

Generational ignorance. If mom is a dip shyt and dad don't know his ass from astrology then what are the chances the kids are going to find a passion or even an interest in something like that? I'd bet my balls though that for those parents who are passionate about "music" their kids can Twerk and recite every damn lyric to about 50 songs.

You know what really hooked my kids on science. Space. Shyt like black holes and such. Things I can't explain:smile: Neil "Da Gwad" Degrasse Tyson and NOVA get a ton of credit too (Netflix).

Until we revamp the american education system to better educate kids AND their parents I suspect you'll see a lot of this.

1st off i was NOT referring to black youth in the hood

*generalizing*
unfortunately... our youth in the hood isnt interested into anything relating to higher education neverless science

which leads us to our lower/middle class
and these households; religion is strong -so if the parents & grand parents of the kids are religious (do u really think they gonna take their kids to a museum, planetarium, science exhibit etc... when these educational forums defies ones beleifs)

and if they do take these kids there -its more for entertainment purposes then educational

Agreed. I think a big problem is children thinking "I'm just not a math person". Nah b, thats a bad attitude to take because you're essentially giving up on learning it. I believe children have the ability to learn anything (minus folks with learning disabilities, obviously).
Everything starts at home. I love to read because my parents had reading times at home and before that read to us. I like science because my parents exposed me to it, and my daddy is a sci-fi nerd(hood nerd, that's a thing).

I do agree people hate what they don't understand. I hated math until I understood it more. If it's difficult for a child to read they don't like it. Ease comes with familiarity.
