lol nikkas and science... lets be real

how many black parents can even tell whats going on in the museum (let alone know where its at) or have the ability to "wing it" and give their seed proper introspect??

AutoCad or MPC2XXX

9.5/10 nikkas know what they picking
what you may not understand is that MPC has science behind it as well as AUTOCAD. both can get you paid in the end. now how many black parents can explain that? probably not enough.

i think it's a class and culture issue that plays itself out in certain proportions within each demographic. i will wager that the types of people who frequent science museums, regardless of skin color tend to be:

a) secular or capable of strictly compartmentalizing their faith so that it never interferes with their pursuit of knowledge.
b) middle class
c) a household with two parents
d) a household where both parents at least graduated from high school

black and brown folks are seriously lacking in those criteria, unfortunately, but not unsurprisingly considering our history here. the whites and asians who have life outcomes similar to blacks also dont frequent the science museum any more than we do, but since the portion of whites and asians with similar socio-economic attributes to blacks is smaller, there is enough intraracial social stratification to allow for more whites and asians to be into this stuff. basically, black people are heavily underclass while whites and asians are heavily middle class or higher. there are even more complicated economic and cultural breakdowns but that would be splitting hairs, in my opinion. to put it simply, blue collar people dont do stuff like that as often as white collar people.

you dont need to possess all a-d from that list, but the more attributes from that list, the more likely you are to be doing something academic outside of class. i would also wager that if you have b, c, and d but not a, you would be more likely to visit a "creationist" museum where you can see cavemen riding dinosaurs
you are way off about the first part. the entire fam is christian. been that way since since. but we are in cali. we dont live in the sticks in middle america or in the south. so we can believe in Jesus and believe in science, no everything but a lot of it. and even if you dont believe in it. doesnt mean you shouldnt know whats being taught. if i was a non believer with kids. i would still teach my kids about the worlds basic religions. cause i'm a knowledge seeker.

i grew up in a household with one parent for the most part. were not middle class. now granted both my folks graduated highschool, both did some college, and both were very good students. both went to technical school as well. so that does help a ton. but it all depends on how the parent sees life my parents were from the south, both from two different sall towns. but both of them felt bigger then their little towns. one got to see the world via the armed forces as a youngin. thats how he ended up in cali. the other was brought here by her parents. so that again tells you my grandparents were very forward thinking people. even being from the south and a little town.

so of course moms had me at the science museums a lot as kid. by the time i went with my school as a child. i have been so many times i could teach my class every exhibit.

:whoo:

So yeah we've been twice......

it really wasn't that many white families. There were enough white families, but compared to population asians, mid east people n shyt- were in there deep.

Is there a such thing as a creationist museum?

if you are in urban michigan, i can imagine that the white people who did not partake in white flight are almost living like black people, so it makes sense they are not meeting the criteria i laid out in the kind of way you would expect them in a non rust belt state

:mjpls:too many eminems over there

The L.a science center is :flabbynsick: but ill take my son there anyway.
:what:

Can't be talking about the California Science Center, by USC, you can't be. :stopitslime:

That's even less excuse for blacks not hit up the African American History Museum and the California Science Center, :snoop:

They're conveniently surrounded by the hood.

Lotta outdated shyt in there and vandalism from taking gangbangers in there.
Lowkey you maybe right, I havent been there in a minute, I just assumed they kept the premise up. But I hit up the LA Observatory every couple months and it's clean as heck.
