Of course the ATL
past history has nothing to do with the current construction of a roster

that 2013 braves team was legit very good. i dont buy that we were that far away if we have a normal manager

obviously we had to blow things up bc we werent resigning the big time players and our farm system was trash. my argument is that i dont buy into the narrative that we couldnt have won in 2013 or 2014

And my argument is that it's foolish to think that the 2013-2014 Braves were World Series contenders. They weren't. They were good teams that we're talented enough to win the division. They weren't good enough or deep enough to win in October. That was part of the reason the decision to go in this direction was made, b/c those Braves teams, while very solid in the regular season, was flawed and incapable of becoming a World Series contender. Coppy says as much in the same podcast you just posted

And for the record, I'm cool with the Braves going this direction, I'm not happy they're this bad but I'm starting to come around to the fact that this was the way to get us back to where we need to be

i realize coppy said that but i don't agree with that

if you're good enough to run away with your division, you're good enough to get hot (like the giants do every other year) and win the damn thing.

i am looking at that season in a vacuum. we could have won it all with decent management but we also were right to blow it up.

Its really shows Fredi was holding the braves back. We're still hot shyt on the sidewalk but they are playing 10x better now
There is no way a Fredi Gonzalez led team could have taken 2 of 3 from the Giants. I don't care what happens today, 2 out of 4 against that good of a team shows a lot of progress.

Definitely playing better, not gonna blame Fredi or throw dirt on him b/c he wasn't given a fair chance this season at all and there's no pressure on Snit to do anything or coach well. I think the pressure on Fredi trickled down to the players at times too b/c you had a lame duck coach who you knew was gonna get them deavors. But I'm happy to see they're at least competing now

They saying "it would be an upset" if he wasn't traded :yeshrug:

I'm resigning myself to the fact that he will be traded and if Freddie keeps hitting like he's been hitting he'll get traded too
I don't understand.What's the upside to trading him?He's still a young player.

I think last year really tempered the Braves view of Teheran as a potential ace. I like that he's a dog and has a chip on his shoulder but he's not untouchable.

Plus, our organization has a glut of young arms. If we could move Teheran for young, major-league ready bats (3B, C) then they'll do it. I disagree with @AVXL tho, I don't think Freeman won't get traded

only way we trade JT is if we get a deal that puts the shelby to arizona deal to shame
They are just posturing. They want a team to do something ever more dumb than Arizona and San Diego combined.

I think Julio is an ace. The guy is young and has a horrible agent. He's getting peanuts. No way I trade that away on a hope and prayer that one of the young arms are better.

Now, I would entertain offers for Freeman. I would use his recent power explosion to fleece some team. He has to be the #3-4 best bat, not the #1 or 2. He's paid like a top dog. He's really a solid #6 hitter.
