Who says you gotta retire here tho? Leave the county at 50 and go to any number of less financially demanding countries. Live like king and eat snapper in Guatemala for $7.50 a day lol

If You move there, would you have a toilet working? Running clean water in the house? Freedom of speech?

it all depends.

Remember that movie Y Tu Mama Tambien and the main characters were driving thru Mexico and wound up at that area near the beach and Chuy (and his family) prepared all kinds of food and shyt for them? It has to cost very little and that are looked like a part of the country that no one gave a shyt about. You’d literally have to bring in your own resources, fish and tend to your land.

now the average person there isn’t getting $ like that and would have to rely on travelers buying stuff as they make their way to where every. But some random American retiree with $ to get a decent house/materials at local prices seems feasible.

you won’t be in the most “lit” area obviously but you’re not struggling either.

when it comes to free speech and general government fukkery, I’d imagine that’s an issue for the main bigger cities where folks are thinking like people in 2020 and shun the way “things used to be” like you’d see in the countryside.

the running water scenario would be an upfront dilemma but feasible enough to iron out with some level of ingenuity (and money, of course). But none of this seems impossible considering you’d be coming in with more resources than the average person there and you’re in a remote area with less fukkery to be concerned about

Climate Change is gonna put a damper on that breh, hate to break it to you.

Aye breh, climate change is nothing new. I’m sure when there were volcanos erupting thousands (even millions) of years ago, it was apparent that shyt wasn’t going to be the same ever again. Those where the realities of those times just like the current fukkery we’ve likely inflicted on our environment is a reality that’s coming whether we like it or not.

It’s a matter of what side of the fukkery you’re on. I’m sure people in Great Britain would welcome any level of climate change just as a means to experience something different from the bullshyt they’ve had seemingly forever.

Getting a pension and retiring at 55

That's like 22 years to perfect my side gig (videography)

I'll stay busy and make a lil change (maybe 20k a year shooting weddings )

We also have a roth IRA and mutal funds/stocks

Also gonna sell the house we're staying in at the time of retirement and downsize/enjoy the profits from the house

If your house is paid off you don't have many other bills that are substantial
Everyone tells me buying a single family home is an L

If Social Security Is Your Retirement Plan Then YES You My Friend Are fukked

But If You Have Half A Brain And A 401k That You Actually Contribute To You’ll Be Ok

Have A Plan, Own Your Property, Fund Your 401, Invest In Yourself

If You Think You’re Gonna Work Your shytty Little 30k A Year Job Your Whole Life Then Be Taken Care Of By Social Security Then Just Die Now Cause You’re In Trouble

Im gonna retire in the Caribbean likely, I dont need much to be comfortable there. By then my home, here in the U.S ,should be paid off anyways and hopefully worth multi millions(bought for 1/2 mill). Ive been puting aside 1500 every month and I want to raise that to 2.3. Ive established an account for my son, about 400 a month that he wont be able to touch until 18.

I do see the patterns of how this system could collapse and noticed much less families are bearing kids like they were in the 80s. In the meanwhile all I can do is survive and I am thankful for every opportunity that comes my way.

In this system, you'll always need a replacement for workers though.

Specifically, workers that you have control over. That is why they start indoctrination early in life.
