Just wait when automation takes over there jobs.
No shyt. Yet the white supremacist article in the OP actually advocates increasing the labor pool via immigration even though people, especially black folk, will be fighting for fewer and fewer jobs in the near future.

GRODT should be the motto. dont sip the Kool Aid. this aint for "us". as P.E. said...."Cant Truss It". I worked for 16 years for a company as engineer, separated from them, took my 401k and Pension and started a couple of businesses. you need that money now, not when you are old as fukk. My cousin worked 30 years and built up retirement package worth over $300k and when Lehman Bros folded, her shyt was in the bushes. She is damn near 70 with $5k to her name and has to continue to work before she has to downgrade her standard of living even further.
You're right. If im being brutally honest pensions are not enough. You have you started making alot of money ASAP and save very well.

I been knew this.
The amount of money you think you gonna need to retire is probably gonna need to be doubled at least.
Them 401ks can be wiped out in a second. You think they wont take your pension if they need it? :usure:
Best advice is plan on working til the day you die cause the future is bleak

I'm already retired.

1. Figure out what people need.

2. Buy it before they do.

3. Give it back to them.

There you go, now escape the rat race.

:damn::damn::damn:

I'm really sorry to hear that man, she "Did the right thing" and paid for it.

Did my calculations and it says I should have 15m in 30 years... But in 30 years how much will 15m be?

See :wow:

You would need access to a bunch of data to forcast that and even then :wow:

That's why I'm a big fan of passive income. Renting out a house, buying & holding stocks, etc. All that saving and 401k is some old school shyt. I ain't trying to depend on some company for retirement

Getting a pension and retiring at 55

That's like 22 years to perfect my side gig (videography)

I'll stay busy and make a lil change (maybe 20k a year shooting weddings )

We also have a roth IRA and mutal funds/stocks

Also gonna sell the house we're staying in at the time of retirement and downsize/enjoy the profits from the house

If your house is paid off you don't have many other bills that are substantial

I'm trying to retire at 50. Got 21 years, need to start grinding now.:patrice: And I don't know anything about a pension

I figure if I can get a couple properties bringing $6,000 month I'm good. Maybe a part time side gig and I wanna get into the stock market.

Your living expenses will determine how fast you can retire. Figure the house is paid off, Property tax + utilities is about $500/month. Food is another $400. So $900 for the absolute essentials

Sooo, are we going to admit that the way the future is looking like, seems pretty hot damn depressing.

It’s shaping up to be pretty bleak for most Americans. And that’s even when you do everything right, like save.

Every time I read a news article with predictions about the future it’s almost always depressing. I’m starting to see what @Wild self is predicting about an upcoming revolt.

School system is giving me a pension after 30 years. This is year 8.

You right to have multiple streams of income. Hitting my stride and it feels good.

Start with mutual funds in the stock market, less risk and good returns. If some stocks in the funds are performing poorly all your eggs ain't in one basket

Get a retirement account. If you don't have a 9-5 get a Roth IRA for retirement

Real estate is a good move though

Wish you success

Sometimes i think this is all by design to make us stop having children, or less children which is in someways population control.

I been saying this and gotten more negs than you can count.......COL is trying to make people stop having kids altogether because COL is the highest its ever been in the history of the industrialized world.....
