Regal or Shane could be huge considering the implications but I don't see it happening for Shane and Regal wouldn't debut as an active wrestler facing Cassidy to earn a spot in a ladder match.
Some NJPW dudes like Jay White or Ospreay could work.
Of course the biggest mainstream name is still Jeff Hardy but at this point I'm not sure he's still that big of a deal, he was in TNA and ROH and didn't move the needle, he's way past his prime and basically a nostalgia act, not a game changer.

It could be not one but a bunch of guys starting a hot angle maybe by forming a faction or something like that.

I think i read multiple times since the speculations took place that he was booked in Japan currently so there's no way he could be physically present at an AEW show.
