You also want an owner to look like an owner and not a fanboy 24/7. His attitude had one of his employees openly punking him in front of media people. Basically, a compelling storyline or interest is one of those that comes once in a while. Engaging is something to keep the fan into the product to keep it moving.

In TV terms, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones were compelling shows. Not every show is gonna hit that level.

There's tons of wrestling on tv and in general nowadays. Khan himself has hours to work with. He should be able to produce something compelling weekly at some point .This is year 3 for the booker and promoter of the year. At what point can we expect a spark supported with strong continuity on his weekly product? Bischoff who he loves to bring up was actually competing and beating Vince in his year 3.You almost sound like you don't think he's capable with this roster and resources he has. I don't blame you if so but at some point matches need builds and resolution surrounding them.

AEW just lacks the type of stories where you don't even need the in-ring to be entertained. I can watch backstage shyt of the Bloodline and Sami every week and be entertained. Same goes for Miz and Dexter Lumis. In AEW the non-wrestling shyt is usually just someone getting interrupted when attempting to cut a promo. They had a chance to have something pretty special with MJF but now he's just gonna be in a standard feud with Moxley. Hopefully they don't do the same "babyface has to overcome a series of challenges to get to MJF" format they used in every other feud MJF has been in.
