Toni Storm was reportedly not booked for live event in DC, WWE called her at 8 am to fly out to the show

Dave Meltzer has more notes on Toni Storm in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

As previously noted, Storm quit WWE this week and the company granted her release but it is unknown at this time if she is under a 90 day or longer non-compete, similar to Renee Paquette’s one-year non-compete when she left the company.

Meltzer said that another story going around is that Storm was never booked for the house show in Washington, DC and it was a last minute call and she was told at 8 am that morning. Meltzer added that she’s walking away from a good main roster contract. The main reason going around about Storm’s exit is that she felt burned out. A few weeks back, Storm talked about her frustration about having to sit in catering at SmackDown.

If you're interested in making money and not a mark for your TV character, I can definitely see why people would want to sign with WWE. That's like saying why would an actor wanna do a sitcom if the character they portray is the target of jokes... it's a damn work :russ: But seriously, if Toni wasn't cool with the work environment or somethin' like that, more power to her for leaving. But I seriously hope it wasn't because of some of this stuff people are speculating and saying she shoulda quit for. I've seen some silly shyt said online.
a few people still haven't learned from the Zelina Vega fiasco. All that caping they did for her, and she came right back. :mjlol:

I suggest people in here just wait.

Actors who have integrity do that shyt all the time. :gucci:

You have plenty of actors/actresses who refuse to play roles that are buffoonish/c00nish:francis:

But in the scenario I mentioned... would an actor sign up to be in a sitcom and not expect to be the target of jokes? We still don't actually know the cause of Toni leaving but the way people jumped out the window with that "b b but they made her get smashed in the face with pie" was wild. Like that was the immediate thing they jumped to and I'm wondering if they just started watching. They acted like that was the first time they ever saw anyone in wrestling get food thrown on them.

It depends.

There's being comedic relief :heh:

And then there's being degraded:ehh:

It's like when Chappelle left because he felt like he was no longer making the jokes but was becoming the joke:francis:

I'm not saying that's why Toni left, but I could easily see an actual pro wrestler like her looking at the type of low-brow, degrading bullshyt Vince & Kevin Dunn love as insulting.:yeshrug:
