DE: Mario/Casher
DT: Timmy/McAllister/Lawrence-Stample
DT: Jacobbi/Goldman/Mitchell
DE: Hicks/Newberry/Walker

Probably the weakest link on defense. Mario is most def starting but haven't liked anything I've heard about his weight/conditioning. I think he knows there's no way he's not gonna start so he's in fukk it mode. Most of the good news I've heard is more about Hicks switching back to DE and the DTs (most notably, Derrick Mitchell & Lawrence-Stamples). I'd love and I'm pretty sure that Pruitt will institute a package of 3 or 4 DTs on the line and no DEs or please have one package that has Goldman & Jernigan on the field at the same time. Hopefully Jernigan can stay healthy. I'd like to see what Walker can bring but if we won't know until the Clearinghouse shyt is complete. Newberry just seems lazy as hell. Depending on what they do in recruiting, I'd be willing to let him sit on the bench and waste or let him transfer. He's dead weight at this point.

Linebackers: Christian Jones, Telvin Smith, Terrance Smith, Northrup/Levenberry, Stevenson, Thomas, Eligwe

STACKED!!! I know many don't think so but there are mad interchangeable parts here. I see the big 3 incoming LBs getting some significant playing time early to get them up to speed (w/ the exception of Stevenson who was an early enrollee). Northrup is my player I expect to see make an impact. Go back if you can and watch the BC, Maryland, Miami & Wake games and just look for #29 . Duke was EVERYWHERE making tackles. Would be highly disappointed if he doesn't start. Eliot said that as good as he was last year, he was just going off instinct and not scheme. Pray they don't go back to putting Christian on slot WRs

Defensive Backs: next post ( @klutch2381 let me get your input since you were at the spring game )

Kickers/Punters/STs: Honestly, does anyone else want Jimbo to just let Aguayo handle kicker and punter duties? Beatty is just god awful and I think he'll cost us a game due to getting a kick blocked or bad field positioning

PR: just put Kenny back there and fair catch everything. Didn't trust it last year, don't trust it this year

Good post. Pass rush is what I'm most worried about. Newberry sucks, but I read that Sal is really pushing him. Don't think Casher is ready yet.

How good would our DEs look if Aaron Lynch and Dante Fowler didn't bytch up?

Lynch would have been deadly with this years squad and last year with Elliot. I would say Casher might have a chance to be an OLB if and when we make the switch to the 3-4

You nikkas still trash!w

2008: FSU 41, Miami 39
2010: FSU 45, Miami 17
2011: FSU 23, Miami 19
2011: FSU 33, Miami 20

Lynch was too much of a mental midget i'm glad he said no to FSU. Him and Prestwood wasted FSU and ND's time with their antics.

What's the deal with Newberry the guy just doesn't have it or was he just an overrated prospect? Whenever I read something online it always seems like it's negative regarding his play.

You think it's a done deal Telvin will be starting. I know nikkas was bytching about his size holding him back from getting more burn.

I wish Jerrigan and Goldman had a full 2 years together but I think Timmy is gone after 2013. :shaq2:

I think Aguayo might need to do both, Beatty was still pretty porous in the spring game as well.

As far as the CB's. I love our talent and depth there. They didn't look stifling in the spring game, and Joyner was toasted a few times, but Pruitt and co. have said we ran nothing on defense. I think DB is the 2nd strongest position on the team, besides DT.

I think our starters are Joyner and Darby. I love PJ Williams' versatility. I think you can put him at the boundary or the field spot and he will produce. He looked good in the spring game, had a good spring from all the reports, and Joyner says he's going to be a star. We all know Joyner knows talent. I want to see how they use Ramsey this year if he doesn't redshirt, and I think Tyler Hunter is your main CB in nickel. I think Waisome, Smith, et al, will mainly be matched up with slot receivers this year.

Well, we finally get to see what 'Los can do as a full-time starter. I really think he's going to have a big year. Terrance Brooks is solid when he takes good angles. I'm really interested to see how dude plays this year, because he has gotten pretty brolic (no ASVP). When I first saw him in my class this past semester, and before I put a name to the face, I legitimately thought he was a linebacker. :whoo: We need these dudes to stay healthy, because we don't have great depth at safety and I'm not ready for the Colin Blake era to begin yet.

I'd grade the group an A- because of a dearth of depth at safety.

Booker T. Washington star linebacker Matthew Thomas wants release from FSU scholarship - Miami-Dade High Schools - MiamiHerald.com

Booker T. Washington linebacker Matthew Thomas – one of the prized gems in Florida State’s highly-touted recruiting class in February – said Monday he is seeking a release from his scholarship so he can sign with Georgia or USC.

Thomas, the No. 1 recruit in Miami-Dade in 2013 and the nation’s No. 2 outside linebacker according to Rivals.com, said he informed FSU coach Jimbo Fisher and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt late last month that he is not planning on reporting to school in the fall and that he hopes the school will allow him to play elsewhere. But Thomas (6-3, 205) said FSU’s coaches do not want to release him and told him last week they’re planning on visiting him in South Florida to try and talk things over.

“I’ve told them it’s nothing personal. I just didn’t make the decision I really wanted to on Signing Day,” said Thomas, who picked the Seminoles over USC, Georgia and Miami.

“What happened was on Signing Day [was] I wasn’t sure who I wanted to sign with. I had issues with different schools. But when I told my mom I didn’t want to sign with anybody and wait and give it a few days she said I couldn’t do that. She said, ‘FSU is a good school – pick them. It’s close to home.’ I wasn’t agreeing with it. But I felt like I was being disrespectful to her if I didn’t sign. So I made her happy.”

Thomas said the pressure of having already committed to make his college announcement live on ESPN also made things tougher. He said he has spent the last few months trying to convince himself Florida State was the right choice, but it just hasn’t felt right.

Thomas said his mother and father are now supporting him in his push to be freed from his signed national letter of intent, but ultimately the power rests with Florida State’s staff.

“My dad talked to me and gave me some facts about the situation,” Thomas said. “If I tried to go to a school in FSU’s conference I would have to sit out a couple years. But that’s not what I want to do.

“I’ve been in Miami all my life. Georgia needs linebackers. It’s a big program. I have family in Georgia. USC, growing up I never thought I would have an opportunity that big. I just want to go have fun and play football.”

Matthew Thomas is an idiot, glad he didnt come to Miami

I remember reading an article about how he was on the phone with Denver Kirkland the NIGHT BEFORE Signing Day :aicmon: and they weren't sure where they wanted to sign, talmbout "oh man I'm kinda feeling FSU, I don't know about Arkansas", like these fools were discussing where to order takeout for the night :snoop:

these dumbasses obviously don't give a fukk about their college education, hopefully they make the league
