Random notes:
- Rewatching the game and our linebackers aren't shyt. I saw an entire series where we had five guys with their hands in the dirt. LBs getting caught up by guards, not being able to shed blocks. The Dline gets no type of upfield push whatsoever. Goldman is absolutely worthless. If his job is to take up blocks so the backers can make plays, he's not even trying. Give his spot up to Shanks. As crazy as this sounds, MEJ might be our best pass rusher (frightening) Break
So I'm just seeing the Hicks fukkaroo on that wheel route. 1) got bumped going out shadowing the TE. 2) was flat footed when Willis comes out the backfield. 3) by the time he runs with the guy, the RB has a 10 yard lead on him. 4) wouldn't have been like that if he wasn't peeking in the backfield. Why is he out there? I'd be satisfied if they moved him back to TE, move Newberry back to DE, and give that OLB job to Eligwe or Matt Thomas. shyt, move Casher to OLB. It doesn't fukkin matter!!! /break
- Roberto needs to be the punter for the rest of the yr. Can't say that enough. Beatty ain't shyt
- Karlos tip toes too much when he runs between the tackles. But this is the guy folks want to get the majority of the carries
- Freeman is a helluva blocker. Picked up plenty of weak side blitzes and on one play where Hart just got blew past
- speaking of blocking, is Erving hurt? That whole left side is ass on pass blocking but strong on runs. Exact opposite for the right. Tre the best lineman we got but everyone is cysing Cam but whatever. Mattias
- I can understand getting him some PT at safety but Ramsey is too dynamic a playmaker to be at safety. Just move Joyner back there. Dude covers great ground but I think this game against Maryland is going to tell us a loti want PJ on Diggs. Diggs hates physicality (saw it during the WVa game when they'd jam him on the line)
- Winston is our man but he's not above being criticized. He finally stop throwing off that back foot and his ability to make throws when the pockets collapsing is unquestionable but damn if he doesn't force some throws. He can do it to Green and Shaw because they can adjust and make a play on the ball to either catch it not give the DB a shot to intercept but his throws to Kelvin are FORCED. Case in point, second down play where KB goes across the middle and the LB hits him and knocks the ball loose. Total force. Was a second throw he forced. Did it last week in the Redzone against BCC. Forces it to O'Leary when we get in the Redzone as well. Some throws he makes will not fly against UF point blank. Their corners are too damn good.
- For those missing Stoops, stop. Played it safe and was horrible at making adjustments. I'm giving Pruitt some leeway but not much. He's just mismanaging his assets at positions. Like we all know Northrup should be more involved on defense. Same for Darby. He is the damn ACC defensive ROY for a reason. He should've fought to keep Newberry on defense. Thomas should be OLB on obvious 3rd downs. Not heated with him just because his in game adjustments are so damn good but they need to come out knocking heads off and setting the tone
- Last one, this Maryland game is going to be close. Like Aguayo might make the difference type close. Field position is going to be key and that's where Beatty fails miserably
