Holland saw the box office prospects for Uncharted and decided to protect who is making him money.

I mean he's playing a character that if he wasn't doing it he'd be easily replaced and most wouldn't care. Scrocese can't be easily replaced in what he does with minimal impact.

These are movies that simply exist to make money and really nothing more. Never ending stories that will continue until they become unprofitable to make. The movie equal to soap operas or wrestling. Always talk of the next post credit scene for the next teaser or the next trailer.

They riff off the source material with plug and play pieces. Art has a creative spark. The artist wants to say something or express something.

Comic movies are the evolution of popcorn flicks. That's not to say they aren't enjoyable but they're more spectacle than art.
