That’s exactly my point...he can’t choose his comp, but there’s not much more he could’ve done to more impressively dominate that era. I guess not get injured those few years and win those titles too. Of course if he did that, he would’ve just gotten knocked more for being on loaded teams. :ld:
Yea but there will always be doubt because we know he didn’t go up against the best talent

Bill Russell won every year he was healthy. The years he wasn’t healthy, the Celtics didn’t win.

comparing between eras (and sports) is hard, and I know why folks don’t want to go overboard lauding him since everyone accepts that competition gets stiffer and stiffer as pro sports became a mature industry. But I’m not sure what more Russell could’ve done to enhance his greatness. He couldn’t pick the era he played in; he just dominated his era like none other. :wow:

bill russell also had to deal with segregation
