at how "simply intricate" this thing called nature is. It's fits together in a very logical stream and makes absolute sense, the hard part is envisioning it on the genetic level and erasing all the junk knowledge popular culture feeds us as evolutionary facts (ie humans come from monkeys
). No preconceived notions when reading Darwin makes it easier to understand.
A good starting point is Darwin's "On the Origin of Species." Of course you'll be reading it in Darwin's era English, but patience and a vivid imagination makes it worthwhile.
