It's never went to a team outside of the top 9 under the new odds, so it'd be hilarious if tonight was the night that it happened.

Dropping that low will be tough. There's only an 8% chance it will fall below the top 9, so about once every 12 years. And almost half of that is the #10 team, the chance of falling below top-10 is just 5%. But yeah, across those 1-8 squads especially they've all got a real shot.

they will rig it for a big market team
wembenyama is too generational to hide out on some small market team

Like Duncan to San Antonio, Bron to Cleveland, Oden to Portland, AD to New Orleans, Wiggins to Cleveland, and Zion to New Orleans? :skip:

Last 25 years the most hyped generational talents always seem to end up in relative backwaters.

For some reason I think he ends up in San Antonio being that the league wants this kid to develop into a superstar and what better place to do that then to be with Popovich for a couple years. But he would be a great fit on a team like the Pistons to who have a lot of young talent and he would obviously be the centerpiece of their slow rebuild.

if they keep repeating it enough it will eventually be true that a big market team gets to pick a generational talent first overall.
