To these Black retirees, the federal civil service now under attack was a path to the middle class

When crackas and non-blacks yap about black people being “dependent on government” this is what they referred to.

Really just showcases their lack of resourcefulness and forsight

Two generations back my family became middle class through government gigs and in turn my and the current generation got to where we were by our grandparents work so that we could either go to college or start a lil side business. We ain’t the Warbucks but we is relatively living good.

Thats why I ain’t got time for no “anti-government, tear the system down!” bullshyt. Because these are the everyday people keeping the lights on.

And this is why this new generation scares me. All passion and zeal and …Tik tok…but no knowledge, no respect of understanding of history. This battle will be won politically and in courts and elections, not on fukking tik tok. It’s a generation of folk opting out

Those people practice the inverse of white grievance politics. White folks get nothing, but they have a veneer of superiority. Pro-black(internet edition) politics argues we have and gain nothing so if there isnt a home-run windfall politically, whatever happens in the mean time cant be worse than what has already happened.

Short bus ideology.

Exactly. End of the day a lot of people - even white people - are learning that the status quo is often better than chaos and wonton destruction. If you can't tell that a stable environment is better than a building being on fire then I dunno what to tell you lol. People should be able to look at this stuff and draw hard lines. Oh you want to destroy the Department Of Education? That means you want to significantly cut the amount of black people who can go to college (very large percentages of black people go to college off grants/loans from the DOE) so I can't vote for that. A lot of people had clear incentives to ensure this fukkboy never got back in the White House and they said nah...I'm good, who cares. Good luck lol.

Long story short, despite a population of over 3 million, I can sit here and argue all day about Chicago being a warzone overrun by gangs due to statistically a few hundred of them commiting some sort of crime.

Transport me to 2004 Fallujah and now I have a frame of reference. ":ohhh:Oh THIS is what a warzone looks like?"

People can have it bad, but they don't know it can be worse until it is. I hate the status quo but we could work ourselves through or around it. Upend status quo for patronage and corruption with a smile and billboards and you really see how grimey things can be when there is no reason to hide. Folks assumed things happening now were happening under our noses. Naaaaaaaah, keep your receipts. The price of the brick went up:unimpressed:and you ain't getting fronted shyt.

Is what we’ve experienced from Trump so far better than not getting any FBA specific tangibles from the dems?
full

I can tell you did not read the article, also I did not vote and one more thing....I live in California and Kamala Harris won California:gladbron:

Kamala Harris was DESTROYED and that was not only because of FBA's. It was because she did not run on anything besides twerking, washing greens in a bath tub and a fake blaccent:

Comedian Larry Wilmore echoed this sentiment on a CNN discussion I caught this weekend. On some 'back in my day' shyt, but one of the anchors a full generation younger affirmed the same from her own experience.

"IT WAS THE DEMOCRATS" who offered this path, family.
Now we finally see what "tangibles" The Republicans have to offer.
Yup. Government (state/fed), automakers, and small businesses (trades/construction) heavily built the black middle class. All my grandparents worked at an automaker before I was born. A lot of the black adults I grew up around were teachers or postal workers. They had houses and put some of their children thru college. Now we have government and billionaires making it clear they want us in warehouses with no benefits. They want you at Amazon, not the post office where you can make a good living and take care of a family.

Also the lack of convos about this over the years on the Coli was sad. So much bytching and complaining while ignoring the fact that a lot of these jobs were hiring for a long time. I always see guys network for this stuff at my barbershop. Why hasn’t the Coli been on that wave…dunno. Now you gotta wait 4 years and hope Vance doesn’t win.

I guess it depends what city you live in. At the barbershops where I live there are never any guys networking for stuff.

It bothered the fukk out of me when Trump Stans were so quick to tell Black people whose jobs were threatened to just 'find another job'. Right wing messaging through social media has done a number on too many of us.

Just as bad as those brain dead white working class trucker hat wearing clowns that form his base. Crazy how they convinced some black people they’d get something out of it (black jobs) and they turn around and cut black jobs

Amazing how that sentiment was shared by quite a few on this forum before the election and inauguration, and now many of those accounts have gone silent.

Very interesting.

Right. I want to slap ppl who say that.

Like, all these federal jobs that are being eliminated will not be replaced with private sector jobs.

This shyt isn’t a joke.
