I ain't gonna hold you, but Charlo ain't no big name like that. It would of been on par with when Nelo fought Saunders. Charlo ain't moving the needle like that with casuals
In the boxing world he is...the fans and buzz...trash talk would of been much bigger if had been the opponent...everyone knows that

Interesting point made by Sean Z. on the Porter way podcast.... The fighters who have won the most rounds against Canelo have all come from the eastern euro system, and they utilized the jab heavily in their gameplan.

Golovkin and Kovalev.

You forgot Lara..he actually defeated him on a judge's card too

I think it has more to do with Baranchyk and his wars catching up to him more than limited...his punch resistance was bad that night
Oh no doubt.

If boxing wasn't so medically corrupt he would have had to have at least 2 years off after the Zepeda fight, or perhaps be permanently retired.

I heard that too (cleaning the house).

It's an interesting point.

Golovkin kinda in a zone of his own with his jab though, it's different to most fighters jabs. Kovalev looked great with the jab but faded badly due to recent Yarde fight imo.

Gameplan to me for Canelo looks to be this -
  • Bivol often punches off the bounce going with his lead hand, out, almost an inverted step scenario.
  • This is rhythmically unusual and a nice score punch for him. But it leaves him somewhat chinny to a lead uppercut, lead hook or various right hands if timed (over the top, body etc.)
  • Reynoso/Canelo will look to exploit this in the latter rounds when technique / guard / sharpness deteriorates.
