Above the fray.
With TO in Philly I don't think it would have mattered because they would have never torn up the contract and renegotiated (which was their motto no renegotiating). So he still would have bytched and pouted and moaned.

Yeah he could never have done that shyt in dallas because the dallas media was different. They were not going to side with TO over their QB. In other words the Dallas media loved Romo...his interceptions and all. Where as in Philly they started and ended their hate with Mcnabb. WIP and the rest used Mcnabb as their whipping boy (racist connotation included on purpose). Nothing he did was good enough and the white back up was always considered better and their pick to be the starter.

I have argued before that Mcnabb was the shield for Reid. Reid's career would have been far shorter in Philly with out Mcnabbs talent to make something out of nothing and the media having the bulls eye on Mcnabb since the day he was boed and drafted.
full disclosure

I'm a Giants fan.......and I started laughing when T.O. was doing those curls in his driveway.................and didn't stop laughing until the "Next question" press conference by Drew Rosenhaus

That organization didn't give prime Reggie White the money he wanted,so somebody told Terrell wrong about his chances of renegotiating.

QB is the hardest position to play in sports, and Philly has to be one of the toughest 3 cities, fanbases, and media to do it in. McNabb has THICK skin to have been able to do it...before you even factor in the uncut blue collar racism of the fans and media.
T.O. gave zero fukks about that.

Yep TO just seemed as a man who is truly unaware of everything. Hell Keith Jackson, Clyde Simmons and Seth Joyner didn't even get resigned to the eagles along with Reggie White. THATS HOW CHEAP they were.

All this started because TO original agent did not file the free agent paper work on time at the end of the season in SF. Meaning TO was still under that low paying contract. The 49ers then trade TO to Baltimore. TO refuses to play for them and they trade TO to Philly.

Yes you are right playing QB is hard and it is especially hard in philly and as a black QB. I looked at Mcnabb as that generations James Harris (but with better stats than Harris) who played with the rams and took them to multiple NFC Championships as a black QB. He like Mcnabb never got the credit he deservered as a player and was a trail blazer for so many other black QBs

People forget how mcnabb didn't just have thick skin he was a survivor. There were so many times when it seemed like his career in philly was over. But he got up and came back again and again and again. Not only that but late in his career he was a mentor to many of the young black QBs coming into the league...especially during some tough times for black QBs.

People forget late 2000s early 2010 one of the seasons he was the ONLY starting black QB in the league. So much so that hoe ass racist Deadspin actually wrote an article stating the death of the black QB (starting QB) and how there will potentially be no more black QB starters. During that brief time Mcnabb held it down until the Cam's and Wilson's came around to be the new face of the black starting QB.

Which year was that? I'm trying to think because I feel the Jaguars had all brehs playing QB from 2005 to like 2010 (in part due to James Harris)

In 2010 McNabb was in Washington and Vick became the starter in Philly. Jason Campbell was the starter in Oakland.

I had to go back and think about it was 2009. I believe and you are right....now that I think of it. It was garrad, campbell and Mcnabb, Jamarcus Russell were the only black starters that year (VY came off the bench and went on that 8-2 game run to save Fisher). But mcnabb was the only black QB starter that was all pro / superstar staus left standing. All of his all pro pears like Culpepper and Vick had career changing events (Vick in Jail and Culpepper knee being blown out and now was a backup) That year in 2009 mcnabb made the playoffs and was the only black starting QB who did out of the other 3 starters. This was also the end of Russell in the league and were their was thought that there would be no more star black QBs. That season Mcnabb also was benched by Reid at half time at the ravens. Kolb came in and threw 2 picks. And Reed and Lewis after the game called out Reid and said he was basically setting up Mcnabb. Reid would start Mcnabb the next week on a thursday night game which they blew out the cardinals on NFL network (eagles would eventually lose to the cardinals in the NFC Championship game).

This is the year after deadspin wrote this bull shyt article back in 2008.

The Death Of The Black Quarterback. Jamboroo, Week 3

Folks forget how that was some trying times late 2000s. It looked like there wasn't gonna be any star young black QBs coming down the pipe line and mcnabb was going to be the last star black QB for a long time. Thankfully Cam and wilson kicked in the door in 2011.

But anyway good looking out brotha. I had a brain cramp there and forgot about the other kats you stated. Appreciate it...dap..I wish I could rep you.

Oh and shouts out for calling out James Harris in Jacksonville. As the GM that brotha almost always had the Jags with 3 black QBs on the team.
