I wonder if this fight will really break the ppv record. I only know like 2 people buying it. Most people know it wont be competitive.
I just can't imagine it beats May v Pac. That had 6 years of brewing tension with two all time great boxers.
Hard core fans bought it
Casual fans bought it
Socialites bought it
Pop culture bought it

This is big as a spectacle but I'm just not getting the feeling people are gonna buy the fight the way they did for May v Pac. It feels like when a person announces an album on IG and it gets 600k likes, then the album drops and it's time to buy it and it does 30k.

I think this will be highly successful, around 2m buys. I know I'm not buying the fight.

This whole ordeal has let me know emphatically that there is a huge difference in knowledge between boxing and MMA fans. MMA athletes as well. Conor simply thinks that because he is bigger, that's all there is to this fight. Floyd has fought and sparred bigger people his entire life. What is one more? I said this on another forum

This entire production was and is about Floyd. Is father time going to appear being the only real question. He's kept himself in meticulously amazing shape for his career so I never worried about him with that. Floyd us going to do what he's supposed to do in this situation, knockout the opponent. Conor, glad you got your money but he's going against the most technically proficient athlete ever. No wasted motion, everything done right. People who have never watched floyd live and have ever judged him through clips or the words of others are going to be utterly amazed at how easy this will be for him. Like, why does that damn right hand lead keep hitting Conor in the face? Why does it look like Conor is 5 steps behind. Us boxing fans, we know the deal, floyd is the truth, he's special. This couldn't be any better for him because people outside of boxing will see this too.

So, early on when floyd is backing Conor up, tagging him at will, most MMA fans will be dumbfounded, bubububu.... the left hand...... it won't matter because he too will understand why after a while, most of Floyd's opponents become hesitant to shoot. Why? Because they don't like what's going to be coming back at them.

I just talked to a mma fan at a birthday party yesterday, he really believes conor is going to win. He was saying after Floyd throws 2 punches he's open for a shot and that's when Conor will knock him out. That's when I knew he never seen Floyd fight.

So I'm guessing many mma fans think the same way.. easy money to be made out there.

My theory on this is that MMA fans are accustomed to guys coming in and having success with minimal experience. There are more ways to win in MMA, therefore if a guy is able to put together a game plan suited around their strengths, it is very possible have some early success at a high level.

With boxing, it just does not work that way. This fight actually should not be sanctioned, but there is too much money for it not to happen.

There is also this perception that Floyd can't punch, therefore people foolishly pick against him time and time again. If Connor were facing more of a KO artist, there wouldn't be as much confidence from those fans.

This dude Paulie going back on when he just took up an hour this past Monday. This is why he getting shytted on so heavy, its bad enough McGregor was putting hands on him, but ever since the promotion started this dude can't sit his ass still. I've heard more from Paulie than either Floyd or McGregor.

He's playing it perfectly by milking in all that extra attention. He might even fuk around and get a fight with Conor once Floyd is done with him

Damn near everyone says that he's stronger than they thought he was. Keep thinking he's playing patty cake in the ring. He's not Tyson but them shyts fly and they do hurt. Like Steve Forbes said, floyd is a machine.

Is not that more wins, the talent pool in MMA isn't there

Brett Rogers worked at Sam's Club no background in any martial art, started training MMA and had undefeated Fedor knocked out on his feet lmao

Anthony Joshua would KO Jon Jones, in an octagon, an alley any goddamn where, Jones isn't even athletic to be honest, and he dominating MMA
if DC was younger I think he would beat Jones, he a better fighter and athlete he just old, he started fighting when in his mid his 30'.

Your wrong about jones he would take down Joshua and punish him

Dc can't beat jones because of jones physical advantages

Jon trash, he would get knocked out in 3 seconds, no head movement, won't be able to hide behind his reach

DC was tagging him with over hand rights, the only problem is DC didn't shift his weight into the punch, he would've knocked Jones out

Stipe lost to Jennings in the amateurs lmao, and jennings ain't shyt as a boxer, yet he switches over to MMA and he dominates easily

got Overeem big ass running round like a bytch, these dudes cannot take real power
just like mayweather big ass security was talking that mma shyt he tried to box some random guy in the mayweather gym, the guy just grazed him and his shyt was leaking, he didn't even connect clean and had him the dude stuttering and shyt

people don't understand to make to boxing on the world level you need certain attributes,

I seen guys in gym looking like roy jones until the get hit with a clean punch

you master one skill at a time
mma folk need to come to an understanding
mastering one weapon is superior to fumbling around with five options
