McGregor: Mayweather Beats Wife in Front of His Kid - He's Dirt!
As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, five division world champion Floyd Mayweather formally apologized for calling Conor McGregor a "f*ggot" during last month’s international press tour.
The fighters are two weeks away from their showdown on August 26th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Mayweather stated that he was baited into using the gay slur, because McGregor was being racial by calling him a "monkey."
"There are certain boundaries you just don't cross," Mayweather said. "In the press tour when I said something toward lesbians or gays when I said something toward him. I apologized, but him calling us monkeys, you have to realize, we went through years and years of up and down. Black Americans went through a lot. But I'm a strong individual. We live and we learn and hopefully after August 26th, he won't be speaking that same language.”
Mayweather went into more detail about that exchange this week with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, saying the fight on August 26th is for the "American people" and "all the blacks around the world." He also used the platform to apologize for the homophobic slur.
"I just thought about all our different leaders — Martin Luther King, Malcolm X — that went on the front line for me and my family and all my loved ones," Mayweather said when asked about what went through his mind. "This stuff still goes on, but I'm strong, smart, patient and come August 26th, I'll be the same person.”
McGregor has lashed out after hearing about Mayweather's recent statement - and brought up Mayweather's past issues with domestic violence, which saw the boxer go away for a 90 days jail stint in 2011.
“He knows there’s no racism from me,” McGregor said in an interview with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. “His father knows. [Leonard] Ellerbe knows. Ask these people.”
“He said I labeled him a monkey. I never once in my life labeled him or any African American a monkey and it f***ing annoys me that he’s even bringing it this type of stuff up. If I was to label him after any animal it would the rat or the weasel. Because that’s a rat and a weasel move, trying to manipulate someone’s words and trying to create something that’s not even there.
“And that’s such a sensitive subject. I mean he’s a man that beats his wife in front of his kid. He is the dirt of the
I know that this is just the build up but I don't know why many fans still bring this up about Mayweather
Was it a low thing to do? Sure.
Did he get his punishment? Yes, he was in prison, not for long but he was.
Did his family forgive him already? Yes they supposedly did.
So if even the insulted ones forgave him then why people who aren't involved personally still bring it up?
Besides that it has nothing to do with boxing.
I say the same to Adonis Stevenson... He served his time in jail and he was 19yrs old or so but some people still seriously mad about the fact that he was something of a muscle in an organization which ran prostitutes.
are there crimes where the committers can never earn forgiveness? Possibly. But those 2 above don't belong in that category.
