First time I agree with @patscorpio on anything Floyd related. This fight is a hoax and it's only done because the powers that be see the potential money to be made and opened their checkbook to invest. I will watch it but it's really messed up that this is happening to a long anticipated fight in Canelo vs GGG. Floyd legacy might take a hit on this because he didn't fight a real boxer on his last fight. However the commissions are happy, Vegas is happy and the investors are happy. Fight will make a ton of money. I see Conor getting DQd after being embarrassed. He could not even position himself to outbox Nate Diaz, and you think he gonna be out stepping and setting Floyd up ? This Is Beyond Crazy.

My dude told me that crap last week and Dana just sucked up to Floyd and was happy to get his little cut and help promote this fight. What Dana doesn't see though is the chess match he just lost. My dude said about 75% of UFC fighters have tried to contact Haymon and some other folks just to get in a boxing ring and make more money. They have made formal and informal requests. If you look at Amanda Nunes, she's a pure boxer. Great punching power and moves like a boxer. You're gonna see Lotta UFC fighters trying to eye the boxing water. That's gonna create major issues in the UFC. Conor is the measuring stick now. A Bronze vs Mikey Mouse fight would make some money. Just like a Brone Dillan haw fight just some examples.

The only reason you see Dana in the mix is because he called Haymon and sold it as he can bring his UFC viewers over. His UFC viewers would be willing to buy if the UFC promotes the fight as well. Also, some investors are raping the UFC fighters so they didn't wanna fukk their money up by stepping on Dana.

I have been saying this since last year. Once my dude started making a strong case for that fight, I knew it was gonna be done no matter what. Money talks.

However for Oscar, he is just bitter over the chess move Floyd pulled on him. I don't care about that. I just want the Canelo fight a little bigger. Oscar should push the back for 1 month. That's enough time for the casuals to recover and get enough money to dish out the PPV dough.

My dude told me about this shyt briefly on Monday but I never even cared to even ask him again since he already told me the fight was finalized.

Floyd about to make 150-200+ mil in one night. That's fukk in crazy. That's more revenue than GGG Canelo alone. That gotta hurt. Sucks to be Canelo cuz he admires Floyd and very grateful that he stepped in the ring with him.

White: Mayweather is 40, Always Had Problems With Southpaws - Boxing News

White: Mayweather is 40, Always Had Problems With Southpaws

Floyd Mayweather's August 26 bout with Conor McGregor will be 'the biggest fight ever', according to UFC president Dana White.

Former multi-weight world champion Mayweather confirmed a deal has been agreed for a boxing match against mixed martial arts champion McGregor in Las Vegas on August 26.

Mayweather will reportedly be paid over 100 million dollars for the contest, which will be broadcast on pay-per-view networks across the world.

And White, in whose organisation Irishman McGregor has become a world champion, told Fox Sports: 'It's definitely the biggest fight ever in combat sports history, and probably going to be the biggest payday ever.

'Let's just put it this way - all sides involved are pretty happy with their deals!'

The 40-year-old Mayweather announced his retirement after winning his 49th straight bout against Andre Berto, also in Las Vegas in September 2015.

Three months later McGregor won the UFC featherweight title. After splitting two high-profile bouts with Nate Diaz, he then knocked out Eddie Alvarez to add the organisation's lightweight title in December last year.

The fight was first mooted in a series of exchanges on social media, in which McGregor urged Mayweather to step up and sign.

Given McGregor's non-existent boxing experience and Mayweather's reputation as one of the finest fighters in history, many observers are already predicting a mismatch but White told ESPN: '(McGregor) is absolutely 100 percent positive that he wins this fight, and I stopped doubting Conor McGregor a long time ago.

'Floyd Mayweather is 40 years old, he's always had problems with southpaws. Conor McGregor is 27 and he is a southpaw. Whenever Conor hits people, they fall.

'I'm not saying Conor McGregor's going to win. I'm not saying Floyd Mayweather's going to win. But the reason Conor McGregor's as big as he is is he'll fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. He will go after Floyd Mayweather and he will try to knock him out.'

White said the fight would be at 154lbs - light middleweight - telling Fox: 'It's going to be 12 rounds, they're going to wear 10oz gloves, 154lbs, a boxing ring, Mayweather Promotions will build the undercard - it's going to be a boxing event.'

Mayweather will not be the first boxing champion to take on challenges from opponents steeped in other combat sports.

Muhammad Ali fought a 15-round draw against Japanese professional wrestler Antonio Inoki in Tokyo in 1976, in which each man was allowed to use his own respective talent.

Say what breh? :what::mjlol:

southpaws who gave Floyd a tough fight... :patrice:

travalo_by_greenanimator-da7f5zc.gif

in the last 10 year... Pac, Ghost, Ortiz... all southpaw, none of them were among Mayweather's closer fights.

Sharmba Mitchell was alos a southpaw, not among his toughest fights... :yeshrug:

only southpaw I can think of now who gave Mayweather a tough fight with Mayweather standards (so he lost a few rounds) is Zab Judah but nobody else

Dana White probably doesn't even watch boxing :wow:

just when boxing started to get intresting again here comes this nikka with his bullshyt fights, fukk off floyd

why would Mayweather fighting McGergor in a circus fight would change on any of that? Does this make boxing less exciting? The good matchups will still happen as far as I'm concerned. Just because he fights McGregor we still gonna get Canelo vs Golovkin, Ward vs Kovalev II and etc...
it doesn't change anything

I'm looking forward to the build up.

When is the last time we've seen a "freakshow" type of fight in boxing?

Holmes vs Butterbean?

However, Butterbean was still a professional boxer and showed how dangerous a professional boxer is to the average person. What he did to Bart Gunn was nasty.

how it went down was terrible..the WWE set bart gunn up horribly because they were salty he legit fukked up plans by winning an actual shoot tournament that they wanted somebody else to win :russ:..fukking carnies

A circus fight being put at the forefront of the sport hurts the sports overall credibility and standing with casuals

its the wrong type of attention is bringing..boxing is supposed to be trying to build some stars in this generation post floyd-manny..the good matchups have happened..we have a good amount of FOTY candidates so far and yes more good matchups are happening..the question is will they get the same amount of attention like the whats going on with floyd-conor? no they wont and thats not fair

Yeah and Dan Severn withdrew from the tournament. But honestly no one had a hope in hell of beating him in that
