Actually the biggest reason why am not into MMA. Originally when MMA was getting PPV's 20 years ago it was real fights. No weight classes, no rounds, only rule was no eye gauging. It was the true definition of a fight. If you were in a compromising position you didn't have a round bell to save you. Now they did the smart thing financially to make it more TV friendly, having Gracie wrestle you on the ground for 30 minutes isn't going to grow the sport the way it needed to, but it was more like how a real fight would be. A guy gets you on the ground you don't get a break to get out of it.

MMA needs to remember they have compromised and specialized themselves as well.
